  1. Drilling sucks, that's why I'd never do that. I supervise the installation of remotely operated tools and downhole gauges and top side commissioning. Easy money. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. I'm not going to argue or debate points about an industry I've spent twenty years in with someone who cuts grass for a living and has spent "hundreds of hours" doing google searches it's utterly pointless. You may call that a personality flaw, in reality Mark Twain summed it up best; "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." And I can assure you I don't need any advice, career or personality-wise from someone who's reached the heady heights of Lawnmower Operator. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. I read google searcher, bigger picture, grass cutter and a ream of blah blah blah. Go back to what you know best boy, you're way outta your league. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. Shlumberger? Our arch enemies! I work for Halliburton. What do you do at Surrendermonkey? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. Ok Princess, keep your knickers on. I seriously doubt your claim and I'm not North Sea-centric. I work globally but mainly in Norway. Are you actually in the industry or just surfing google? Your other posts suggest google searches but all of a sudden you are an authority. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. Cool! I work for WellDynamics but we where swallowed up by the Big Red. Who do you work for? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. Me neither. Lol. Thanks for the comment though. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. You are simply clueless and quite ignorant too. you have no experience or knowledge of what you speak of. Your opinion is meaningless. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I've worked on a few Chinese rigs, COSL RIGS here, off of Norway and Australia. Not as bad as I thought they would be but I'm 100% sure they had cats handing up in the Chinese Galley for the Junior Mess. OPEC have tried and failed to kill off shale oil in the US by turning on the Taps and flooding the market. In the US the Shale Oil Operators broke even at $70 pre-downturn and with tech coming on this cost was coming down and becoming more feasible and would mean the US would be less dependant on OPEC than before. Hence why they tried to kill it off. Ultimately it failed as US Operators ruthlessly cut costs and utilised tech that service companies where now practically giving away to stay afloat. This has resulted in Shale Oil making a slow resurgence and OPEC with a huge hole in their budgets. They've had to slowly open them again as there military has no funds. This is one of three serious downturns that I've worked through and by far the worst but that's all it is. It's just a correction and Aberdeen will knuckle down and get through it. Stavanger is just as badly hit but is back on the up. My house over there is back on the market as the correction is over and stabilised. New fields are just coming on-line and the company I work for is one of a few helping to keep rthe costs at around $20 a barrel all in. The last bust has rid us of a lot of dead wood (no pun intended) tightened belts and like any war has seriously advanced tech at cheaper prices so we're just waiting on the next boom. 10. North Sea maybe. But I did say Scottish waters. Just look at the Clair Field West of Shetland. Then there is the untapped reserves in the Moray Firth and because of Trident we can't get to the vast reserves in the Firth of Clyde nor the Irish Sea. Norway is investing heavily in the North Sea with quite a few new Platforms over various massive producing fields. People are quite easily lead and seem to fall for the same line that we are past peak oil and keep falling for this line time and time again. I'll be in a job running Completion Tools until retirement and I'm sure the next generation too. Far more is required of oil than heating homes and fueling cars and unless there is a way to convert sunlight into plastic we're gonna need oil a little longer. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. That's an opinion only and one I don't agree with. He did say the reserves would be depleted and no longer economical to extract. I work in the oil industry and have done so for 19 years. I work in what's called intelligent completions and the advances that have taken place in the last 10 years alone are quite impressive. This has allowed the cost per barrel to fall drastically. It will only continue in this direction. I mainly work in Norway, one of the most expensive countries in the world yet the cost of recovering a barrel of oil is drastically lower that even the UK who we share the North Sea with and have much lower wages etc. This is due to a number of reasons but significantly down to their use of tech. 12. There really really is no chance of that happening. So many known and untapped reserves just around Scottish Waters alone would keep up producing for another 50 years. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. What a load of Libtard bullsheet. Honestly, the left will keep peddling these lies, the right will counter with theirs and in the middle it's still BS. But this is just pathetic and only true Snowflake would fall for it. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. Who on Earth wants an unelected Queen/King as the the head of State? I'm guessing a minority and a minority that gets less with each new generation. I for one would love to see the back of the Royals and yes a system akin to the US would be much more favourable in my eyes. Like it or not the PM is not just leader of the winning party, how childishly naive are you? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. Pleasantly surprised hardly any of them apply to me. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. No mistake made there at all. You just have to do some of your own thinking. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. "Right wing views" these days are what where traditional views a few generations ago. People are getting fed up of the PC nonsense, perma-outraged, huge influx of immigrants and the way this country is heading. Wanting to do something about that does not make someone "right-wing" no matter how hard the regressive left and media try and label them. I allow them the freedom to form their own views and for 13 and 16 year olds they are very politically savvy. I doubt they will form nazi left wing views, but you never know. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. Sockpuppet? So typical of the regressive left and permanently outraged, someone who disagrees with your opinion must be the mouthpiece of someone else. Typical Libtard response. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. The problem is the former residents are their own worst enemy. They are far to demanding and violent. Emotions are running high and many are out to milk the system for all it's worth. Things can easily get further out of hand and there's already examples of copycat flat burnings as the handouts are just to juicy to pass up for many. The Press will just escalate the already high tensions. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. Is this actually a part of the PUBLIC ENQUIRY? Sir Martin Moor-Bick will be leading that as far as I'm aware. We all chose what we wish to understand, evidently yourself very much included. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. I can quite understand the councils stance. The MSM are just looking for the next clickbait article they can throw out regardless of the truth. We just need to wait and see what the official enquiry shows. Someone is gonna hang for it regardless if they are guilty. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. If my answer was not clear enough would you read a huge article on my greedisgood.com page with its fist full of dollars logo on the merits of Capitalism? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. Yeh, though that's all you'd have. Typical toys out the Pram response.
  24. It was hardly a closed ended comment was it Sparkie? If your take on the comment its UK centric only then give yourself a wee high five. Im surprised a rabid nationalist like yourself can think in such broad terms as the Union or do you think it was a Scottish only comment?
