  1. Really helpful advice. Cheers. Im looking at buying the HM130 Woodlander XL later this week when the cash clears. How do you find the HM126? Ive just been reading up on the new Logosol B751 but it has no reviews and no Trailer option, but sure looks good. Do you find you get much Milling jobs in Ayrshire? Im hoping to set up in the North East of Scotland and get a few paying jobs in a year. How do you advertise?
  2. Yeh good points. Id like to earn some cash with whatever one I get but its more for personal use and certainly not going to be a job. Is there a steep learning curve to Band Saw Milling? Ive been Alaskan Milling for the last two years.
  3. Damn, that much! Fark! Was hoping to knock something together for about a Grand if I can source the parts. Where do you buy them from?
  4. Will be interesting to see how you turn the Mill 90 degrees. Keep us posted.
  5. ID only be using it off-site, well 90% of the time anyway. Im looking at getting quotes to have one built to spec for me, or maybe even modify a Woodland Mills or Norwood one to suit. Cant be that hard surely?
  6. AH, its under Tech Specs of the Woodlander XL with the Mill. If you look at the Woodlander XL Trailer only under Tech Spec theres no weight given.
  7. Looks there too! My wife must be right, my eyes are painted on.
  8. Where did you find that? Looked everywhere! Im now torn between the Hm130 XL and the new Logosol B751, which looks the absalute dogs and has a lot of add on features coming out soon. But no Trailer. So what do you do with yours as its over 750kg then?
  9. Wonder why the weight is not mentioned anywhere? Neither is Norwoods.
  10. Ive been working in Norway for 10 years now and lived there for 5. I still work here in Norway and know my way around the 'NAV' system quite well. And although its seen as a socialist eutipia and heralded as the perfect model in Scotland That little Twat Leader of the SNP would never allow the breaks and allowances medium to high earners in Norway enjoy. Yes, the pay is better, but its a common misconception the tax is much higher. As Ive been back in Scotland for 5 years now but still work in Norway I have to submit my tax returns. I am about breaking even with what Id pay in Scotland and almost at the point of paying Scotland the difference back. What people forget is a large portion of your Norwegian Tax goes towards your own personal pension pot, capped at around 100,000nok a year. So for the last 10 years I now have 1,000,000nok, or £100,000 in my Norwegian State Pension. When you reach retirement age the state looks at the current life expectancy and divides your private pot accordingly into monthly payments. Basic pension payments after 5 years dwarfs the UK payments significantly. I do not pay into my Company Pension full stop. Child benefit is paid out to each child regardless how much you earn at just under 1000nok a month. Parental leave is now 15 weeks and your salary is matched by NAV during this time. As my Wife is no longer in the Norwegian system I, entitled to the 'shared' portion giving me a total of 40 weeks Paternal leave paid at my full salary. As I work month on/month off I chose to take my Paternal leave in my 4 weeks off, when I would be off work anyway. This suits NAV and my employer. So I get my salary from the company I work for and again from NAV, so double salary in the month I would not be working anyway. There other things as well, but its safe to say that the fraction more I pay in tax here in Norway is repaid 10 fold in benefits. Norway is a much fairer country than the UK thats for sure and much much fairer than the Communist Hell Hole Scotlands turned into.
  11. Would be good to get an official number. Ive not heard of a single person in Europe or the US having issue with the Norwood or Woodland Mills Trailer having a single axle. I have plenty space in the back of my Jeep for spares and Fuel.
  12. Not sure what MLPM is but I cant see a Mill and Trailer being over 750kg. I think they've intentionally kept it below that weight for that very reason.
  13. Although Im quite sure Im getting the Woodlands Mill HM130 Woodlander XL Im still reserching whats out there and stumbled upon the Logosol B751. It looks like an amazing machine but as yet no Trailer option. Anyone know where I could get a Trailer for it built? And rough costs? Andy
  14. Not sure they need to be braked? I read they did not need to be but for the life of me I cannot remember where? Andy
  15. Well, looks like I'll be biting the bullet and getting a Woodlands Mill HM130 Woodlander XL with a little help from my folks who will be lending me some cash. Cash should clear by the end of the week then I'll be putting an order in.
  16. I actually thought the Woodland Mills Trailer looked good and well built. They seem to build everything else solidly and the feedback from around the interwebs in the US seem to be good. Same as the Norwood version thats been on the market sice at least 2013. They seem to be getting heavy logs thrown at them in the US and no reported issues. I dont know about brakes or type approval though, but cant see it approval any harder to get than a home made Trailer? Seems to be a few kicking about on the roads in the UK anyway. But Im far from an expert.
