  1. I find it grossly unfair and one sided. If there is forum rules then they should be enforced to all, not a select few. People should not also be subjected to hidden three strikes and your out type thing either. Vesp, in this instance anyway, was singled out by a few folk and he retaliated. Big deal. But apparently it was not for breaking the rules, no, it was because the MOD thought he might not apologize where the Troll that started it and also broke forum rules was given the chance to apologize, albeit after Vesp was already thrown in the cooler so it could be construed that this was a factor in not wanting to be banned as well. I could not care less if Vesp is banned, I dont know him from Adam, but in this instance he was singled out. He never started anything and retaliated. How is that fair to ban someone for that? Because of his choice of words? If so then the Troll should suffer the same. But no, Vesp is annoying therefore he gets banned and the Troll gets to apologies and smugly sit there knowing fine well he caused someone else to get banned because of his actions. But the main thing to know is forum rules do not apply if you're the main Mod. Because clearly mind reading is enough to get a ban. No, the language isn't acceptable, Connor openly accepted he was partly responsible though and thats something i'm pretty sure the other party would never do
  2. Yes, it is. So was it the breaking of forum rules that got Vesp slammed or not? Was it some unofficial, only known to you 'three strike's and you're out' type thing? Im genuinely curious.
  3. So to be clear on your initial comment you banned Vesp not on what he said but how he might not of accepted his part in the altercation? The Troll who after winding him up replied in an equally sweary and disgusting manor was given the chance to 'apologize' so that makes it all ok. It seems I own that Eggy weirdo an apology, it does seem like you banned him not for what he said and clearly not for breaking forum rules but just because you can and. Your forum, your rules etc. If you have a genuine reason for permanently banning Vesp then just do it. But the hypocrisy and double standards is quite an eye opener. Dress it up any-which way you like but thats what it is. He was not put in the cooler for what he posted, but what you think his reactions and likelihood of apologising might be. That takes the biscuit.
  4. Dont be so facetious. The reason was apparent to me and to others who posted after Vesp's retaliation. Your asinine reasoning is apparent in almost every one of your posts.
  5. Fair enough, if its just a personal dislike for the guy then he should have just said so. Might as well just ban him completely then as well? Why mask it as breaking forum rules? Why bother posting and enforcing forum rules when ''Steve's site, Steve's rules'' would be a much easier list to abide by. You really are a Walloper aren't you?
  6. I understand what you're saying. But the Mod made it clear Vesp was getting banned for this particular outburst. I'll assume it was as others have mentioned due to his language yet this Troll replies in kind and nothing apparent has happened to him even when he was the instigator. His use of swear words and what he said was equally if not more disgusting. So for fairness and balance they should either both be banned or neither of them should. Personally I dont care for banning. Its childish and we're supposedly grown-ups here and maybe hear naughty words during our every day life...
  7. And what about this Rocket that posted the above in Bold? Is this language acceptable but what Vesp said much worse? Id beg to differ. Both are equally 'naughty' and if one is banned for a period then this Troll should be as well. This guy for no reason what-so-ever picked on Vesp and he in my opinion rightfully replied in the way he did. Yet this weirdo feels he was feeding the Troll?
  8. No no, Im just bad at reading into what folk are saying. 1, No idea what you could quote for a complete removal? Sorry. 2, From asking around £30-£35 an hour seems to be the going rate for Milling, at least here in Scotland anyway. So thats a long day if you wanna charge £300-£350, but who knows? Maybe they'd be happy with that? Its not Hardwood so is the timber you'd extract even worth that much? Would be different if it was Oak or something. What size of Lucas Mill do you have? I quite fancy one too if a second hand one ever turned up.
  9. A few reasons actually. For the last week and a half Ive been constantly weighing up which one to get. Waking up each moring sure Im getting the Woodland then the next morning sure Im getting the Logosol. Plus points. 1, I already have a M7 and the build quality is great. 2, Dealing with Logosol is great and spares are reasonably priced and quickly delivered. 3, Logosol Engineering is second to none (in my opinion) They took the best design features of all the Mills in the price range and incorporated them into one Mill. 4, I have a Swedish colleague/friend who is from the same town as Logosol and he knows a few of the engineers, or his Father does. Might be handy in the future. 5, There is a nice selection of add-on's for the Logosol Mill either in production or post-production coming out next Spring. Auto Tracking, Auto height adjustment etc etc. 6, The Log Planer for Log Cabins interests me a lot as I plan to buy the house Im renting and it has an acre of woodland. Long term I'd like to build a Cabin at the back on the plot looking over the mountains to the rear. 7, Has the best Log Clamping system. (In my opinion) 8, Can be loaded from either side. 9, Interesting Toe Board. 10, Delivery is next day. 11, The Head is pre-built. Supposedly you can be up and running in 2 hours. 12, Standard height adjustment is chain and not cable driven. I've heard the cables stretch over time and you lose accuracy. 13, If you like the M7 and M8 Height adjustment Guide the best bits have been incorporated into the B751. 14, Last cut setting for quick setting up for the next cut. 15, Similar to the HM130 the B751 is hand cranked with indents for different depth of cuts. So one full handle rotation gives you 1" and an extra 'click' accounts for the Kerf. 16, Two month no questions asked Trial. If I want to hand it back I can. 17, I like the look of the Mill and the colour! 18, Nice Torque Wrench free tension adjustment. (one less thing to lose in the Sawdust) 19, Can cut boards 23.6" as opposed to 22" on the WM130 Cons. 1, More expensive. 2, Trailer package is not available till next Spring/Summer. Will also be more expensive. The B751 PRO comes out next Spring/Summer that incorporates the Trailer package. I'll have to disassemble my Bed and buy new runners to work with the Trailer Package. 3, 13hp Motor, although they assure me it will cut as well or better than a bigger engine. (See point 16 in Pro's.) 4, Pull and not Electric Start. 5, Im impatient and waiting 2-3 weeks for my Mill at the best of times but potentially even longer during Christmas and New Year period is very off-putting for me. I'll be heading back to Norway for my Month work period when it arrives and wont be till mid-end of Feb before I even start to build the WM130. I think that kinda covers my leaning towards the Logosol, plus I like new things and I dont think there's anyone on here with one yet? Maybe not even in Scotland? But who knows.
  10. Well after much tooing and frowing I went for a Logosol B751 for a number of reasons. Should arrive on Friday.
  11. Super impressive! Do you think you'll attain the accuracy of a Wood-Mizer or Norwood?
  12. Well if a double negative infers the positive then a triple surely implied the negative again?
  13. Hardly! You claim there is an awful amount of speculation on this thread, then go on to add to the speculation. Caveats have nothing to do with what you initially whined about.
  14. Somewhat ironic you call out other folks speculation then offer some of your own.
  15. Yes, Ive made that abundantly clear by using such terms as ''I'll assume'' and ''I'll hazard a guess''. But thank you for reminding me Im on the right track with my definitions.
  16. Yes, because he's mentioned more than once that he expected the logs to off-set the £1000. I'll assume he did not know or was not informed their Chippers could handle such sizes. So he most likely gauged the sticks he'd get would be much greater. I'll hazard a guess they just let him believe that and chipped away regardless knowing damn well he wanted those logs, albeit slender. Had the guys done this then they might have taken an extra half day. He'd have his logs, the site would also be free of all the Brush they clearly could not be bothered with and he'd feel like he got a good service. Instead he was robbed. By the sounds of it it could very well be a few from here...
  17. Thats right, when the pendulum is all the way to the left you simply have to swing it all the way to the right to restore balance.....
  18. Seems like there is more than a few here that think they deserve whatever they can screw out of unsuspecting customers.
  19. I think he's been ripped off but also think he ripped himself off by what sounds like taking the first offer going. Also, felling such nice fruit tree's is almost criminal so fairs fair. 8 bags of Chip for three small trees and Brush left? Sounds someone who'd charge a grand to fell three small tree's also felt like dumping their chip was fair game too.
  20. Are you asking about just buying the tree and removing everything including the timer you'd mill for yourself on location? Or Milling for the customer and also removing all the waste as well? Maybe clear to others but very confusing to me.
