  1. I was going to buy a new Chinese honda gx clone but then a genuine twin gx620 came up on eBay so I got that instead. 20 genuine HP even 2nd hand will be more useful than a clones 10 or so hopefully.
  2. Probably not but as it's just a hobby rather than for a business as long as I can slab the occasional log without too much drama I'll be happy with it.
  3. Pretty much where I am at now except I've made the mounts for the motor and test fitted it. Was cutting the keyway in the non driven shaft last night. Haven't got rount to starting to make the guides yet, probably going to have to be after Xmas.
  4. They have a big sign saying that they are UK made both on the UK and the US website..................made by Dakin Flathers as far as I am aware. It was Stephens website I was looking at. Thanks
  5. So I was trawling through Google hoping for supplier of these near me to save on postage, plus its nice to support local business, and didn't manage to find any. I'd seen a few recomendations of where to buy them online on here and other forums but whilst I'd been searching for a local supplier one in the US came up and curious as to how expensive they would be as they are made in the UK and would need to be shipped there I had a look. For a box of ten blades to suit a Woodmizer LT15 at 1" 1/4 its US$165 which is approximately £130 which is almost £100!!!! cheaper than the pre VAT price that I've managed to find here which is £225 plus vat and delivery for the same box of ten blades. Whats that all about, I'd been expecting them to be good value here and pricey in the US as an imported item or have I overlooked a better value supplier here in the UK? Thanks
  6. Clever design! How do you adjust the blade tension and tracking in it? Thanks
  7. For those of you that have built your own bandsaw mill what did you decide on for the guides. I've read so many posts it's all starting to blur.....I'd like the cook ones but don't want to fork out that much for just the guides as it's meant to be a budget build and don't have a metal lathe to turn my own. I'm thinking I may go with shallow v groove beatings......has anyone used these? Thanks
