    A good watch

  2. sorry to cast rain on your parade. You've taken a bank loan which you have to pay out of post tax income to buy a second hand pickup and your not vat registered to boot in spite of haveing a large project for which you need £10k of mats. sounds to me you've pi$$ed away a good £10k+ for no good reason at all that you had to borrow to pi$$ away as well! Sorry to be harsh mucker but if you had an accountant he would have made it sound a lot nicer !!
  3. sounds perfect to erect a bunch of asylum seeker accommodation. Give them the axes and couple hundred weight of nails and crack on. if it gets too tough jock airways is close to hand to fly back.
  4. £755/acre You sure there is not a decimal point missing. Sounds like they are keeping the land and selling the trees.
  5. its not the spec that is the issue but the design of the motor. Coca Cola lost a case to HMRC where they had second row seats fitted in a VW transporters and Vivaro's. The tribunal held the vivaros's were ok as vans designed to be such but the VW's were not as not real vans (mini bus)and not allowable. to quote Decision The Vivaro had a dual capability of carrying passengers and cargo. However, on a narrow balance, the Tribunal held that construction of the Vivaro was primarily suited to the conveyance of goods because: Its engine and transmission were mounted transversely and the driver’s position was set high, each in order to maximise the load area and load volume. The mechanical components (fuel tank, exhaust, rear suspension) were packaged to allow a large flat load space floor and the Vivaro’s height was designed to maximise the load area and load volume. The design and dimensions of the sliding door and the rear door facilitated loading. All these features seemed to be more characteristic of a vehicle the construction of which was designed to carry goods. This appeal was allowed. By contrast the Tribunal concluded that neither version of the Kombi vans were constructed primarily to be suitable for the conveyance of goods. They were both multi-purpose vehicles, intended to enable workmen to be taken to work and for goods to be carried. The mid seat section was consistent with such a multi-purpose role. The appeals in connection with these vehicles were dismissed.
  6. its not a car so all that is wrong fortunately as BIK on cars is a killer. for pickups it isnt really a problem. For the 2018/19 tax year, BIK for pickups is fixed at £3,350. So if you pay tax at 20% that’s just £670 a year or £55.83 a month. For a 40% tax payer it works out at £1,340 for the year or £111.67 a month
  7. just to add, the flat rate vat scheme may be better for some just over the threshold. The rate for forestry is 10.5% instead of 20. so bill a customer £1000 and you add £105 instead of £200. The flip side is you cant claim input.
  8. another reason to see an accountant and go Ltd. Cant be self employed as a director.
  9. i call BS on that. It puts brickies barely above min wage which is silly, its not far off their day rate!
  10. much better deals on wildtracks http://www.pickuptrucksdirect.co.uk/ford-pickup-leasing/ranger/pick-up-double-cab-wildtrak-3-2-tdci-200-auto-7380.html remember 'you' are not buying it the company is. you save the full cost against tax. so its not costing you 250 a month its 250 less corp tax and the double win the company pays it not you out of your post tax income. As for VAT, if your planning to register then start making a big list of ever tool/plant/kit you currently have, find the receipts - you can go back 4 years - and add up all that VAT and you will reclaim it on your first return. Same for the contract hire payments. Unless your company is dormant putting a £40+K transaction through should push you over the VAT registration anyway. And why wouldnt you want to reclaim £8k+ of VAT unless you like funding the welfare state on your own!! You really need to have this conversation with an accountant, NOT a bookkeeper. There are other ways to save on tax which they can advise you on.
  11. contract hire it. Some good deals £200+ a month. 100% tax deductible, no bills. put the 50k in the bank.
  12. losses carry forward yes
  13. problem is everyone is busy at the moment, thats goint o change when the next housing pop happens. It's 100% going to happen just a matter of when. Benefits are too much as well, slags dropping sprogs get the lot and usually have a dope head scumbag in tow doing the same.
  14. hopfully its better than the stihl disc cutter. Absolute joke of a device. Rampant rabbet had more power.
  15. not really, their state of compression can be effected in a very minor way by changing temperature. Not by compression!
  16. if the pipe has water in it it cant be crushed. You cannot compress a liquid. basic physics.
  17. just got a grinder attachment for our augertorque 3500. Not that we have many to do but it will pay for itself on the first stump.
  18. get a mini digger with an auger, can then do fencing and grinding etc

    eBay scam?

when you paid from the bank, were you using an overdraft ? if you were then you are protected as you paid with the banks money not yours same as using a credit card.
  20. Agree, and if it was a relative of mine raped I'd cut his balls off and rely on the good sense of an English jury to free me. The problem with rape, taking the emotion out of it, is that its a question of one persons word against another in a court of law. The femenists have unfairly skewed the anonimity such that the man can be tried in the press while the women is anonymous. Strangley if your a pakistani pedo taking part in gang rape you will be afforded anonymity though. None of this will change until we get elected judges, presecutors and grand juries to take charging decisions out the hands of the CPS. The people will then have their hands on the controls on justice rather than 2% of the population of lefty luvvies who know better then the rest of us. Same as brexit really.
  21. only iveco have proper truck ladder chassis. The rest you know.
  22. There is no magic formula. Look at what you make now of a typical job then multiply it up to do 5 of those jobs at the same time. Work out the costs /expenses and do the math.
  23. yes its a grading bucket. The 600mm bucket from engcon comes with replaceble CAT teeth, again very well made compared to our sticklands buckets. The different geometry of the buckets is interesting as well, seems easier to fill.
  24. the engcon bucket bottom left. much better than the old fashioned ones that came with the digger.
  25. Scraping off a plot and came across a grotty pile of logs, on my own so glad of the grab to lift the minging sodden heavy yunts. Really liking the engcon have to say, makes life easier when scraping being able to match the angle of the bucket to the grade of the ground. The kubota just broke into double figures operating hours now, she is great. Can slew, curl and rotate at same time. Plenty of go in the girl.
