  1. What's your location GB - the north east England?? If so, maybe have a wander down to Whitley Bay sea front this week.....
  2. Larch here too, but the sap is got onto EVERYTHING - machines and clothing!!!! So I'm dreading washing my workwear this week.........
  3. Nearly asked, is it night time? But it wasn't when I looked at other video....
  4. I don't 'do' bread either. I have them tortilla type wraps. Lighter than bread, so no sleep needed after lunch time meal....
  5. But you could call it 'recycling'.....?
  6. Bumping am old-ish thread as I'm looking for insoles now for my boots. But is there any difference between summer and winter ones, as if the weather's on the turn for the better, I don't want my feet melting in my boots....???
  7. Got ours from MrCentralHeating.com. Then just got a GS registered engineer to install it. Agree about BG though, robbing "£$%^&*&^%$£"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY much cheaper than any of BG's so called 'deals'.
  8. Jeeeez!!???? How did you get a Jimny stuck?? They're that light, they 'normally' float over a muddy field... Heard many stories of landy drivers laughing at Jimnys at these pay & play off road sites, only then to get stuck and the Jimnys just sail past them though / over the mud.
  9. Boss says he's seen a pair of Kestrels 'hanging around' our indoor horse arena.... I've not seen them yet, but who knows, we may have them nesting shortly...
  10. That IS good to know Moores. Been talking today too, and we may 'add in' - 'tunnels'... You may have seen them going through heaps of loose potatoes, of even stacks of hay??? Even though the pens will be off the ground a pallet depth, the tunnels should help even more air get through.
  11. Oh yes. Just trying to get as much air around / through the stack as possible...
  12. Just your 'average' wind that comes with the weather. Only difference from our last pens, is they'll be more exposed - except for their roof covers, which I hope is a good thing....
  13. Not a really good thread title, but here goes... Just how far can the wind penetrate into a stacked pile of split wood to get it dry? We usually build 'pens' out of 12x8 pallets, then cover only. But last year, the centres were still a bit damp.. This year though, the pens will be exposed on all four sides, not like the last ones where they had one 'solid' side which I think was the problem for the wind penetrating...? I hear on here people building them out of Heras fence panels and have no problems with drying, so with these pallets being not much bigger, we shouldn't have problems drying either?? Thoughts??
  14. The sides never flapped in the wind, as when securing, we stapled the sheet to one batten to hold / line up before going over with the other batten to 'sandwich' the sheet in place, same with around the ends / doors. Also.... Not sure if you can see in the pictures, the start of the uprights are scaff poles banged in the ground - 5ft long knocked in 2 1/2 feet. Along the top of the bars, you could start the cover there, and below, have mesh with maybe roll down covers?? I've seen some people do it this way...
  15. With it having the reinforcing mesh running through it, it wouldn't stretch. You could pull it tight for when you're securing it and that was it. After years of use and winds, still no stretch. And if you nicked the plastic (spade / fork etc), the tear wouldn't spread either...
  16. Here you go, (I hope)... http://www.generationhireandsale.co.uk/hire-and-sale/products/sheeting-debris-netting Scroll to 'MonarFlex Scaffband.... It's what I used. But it wasn't in a walled garden, far from it. The wind used to come over the fences, swirl around, wiping out other peoples' tunnels and greenhouses, but ours never moved.... Was sometimes embarrassing coming in a seeing others 'cleaning up' afterwards, and us just 'carrying on' having suffered no damage....
  17. Never had that problem in ours. But if you're drying logs in them, as said, there'll be vents constantly open preventing moisture build up as you're wanting rid of it ASAP
  18. Build your own, it ain't that hard.... [/img] OK, not huge, but you get the idea... Scaff bars banged in ground for rigid uprights, poly pipe for the hoops. And the sheeting is from Mitie Generation Hire, Birtley. That comes in 2, or I think 3m width rolls and is reinforced, so doesn't tear like normal poly covers. My cover came in 2m width, so I had to cover it in 'strips', that's where the battens are, think 'sandwich'...
  19. Just what size to go for..... [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fZ00mS6-pQ[/ame]
  20. PTO pump driven stuff though can be transferred to another tractor if you need / want to. And on the next tractor, you don't need to be messing with their hydraulics...
  21. Navara?? Stay away regardless. Think major engine problems for the ones you can afford on your budget. Plenty info on 'net if you want to investigate... Hilux? Over priced L200?? Don't know anything about them, but it's a Mitsubishi, and just hope they don't rust like their other models.... Ranger?? Mate has one and loves it. May consider one myself when the day comes.... But what about the Isuzu pick up?? They get a good report...
  22. My dad does a similar thing with his electric hand planer and a chunk of either oak or cherry..
  23. Just started nibbling away at the Larch we had delivered from Euro Forests....
  24. Big diesel hot / cold type?? Didn't know draper did them??
  25. Can't find a name on our washer. All I can say is that it's dark blue....
