  1. Hahahahaha... just looking at the evidence and guessing which road its gonna send us all down..
  2. unfortunately Stubby all I can do is make an educated guess.. My guess is the most damage after the economy will be politics.. As it is I'm already expecting a dam to burst over the coming months.. maybe an Autumn election this time round... I can see May being replaced and her replacement being a hardline brexiteer, whoever that is will be forced to go to the country for a mandate.. by then people will have had enough. I expect the Tories to be wiped out at the ballot box on election night.... Trouble is, if I know that so do the Tories... they're in a bind.. All I can think is, its gonna get so bad whoever lights the fuse will of passed caring by then.... a sort of, let em vote and be damned.
  3. If theres no movement on brexit by the europeans by christmas, then I'll give May three days after her next walking holiday to resign..
  4. Mr Bolam... Japan seems to manage without mass immigration, hows that work?... do they know something we don't ?.. as for me I'm all for immigration as long its controlled and immigration doesn't end up with our own native population becoming a minority one day.. some projections predict this.. not all.. The Africa thing looks complex on the surface, but its very very simple.. with a population of seventy IQ being an average it explains in simple terms were we are, and were we've been... I used to do a garden for an old lady who once lived in South Africa, asked what the natives were like she explained they were like children in their attitude and disposition.. I got to admit I thought that was a little racist at the time but it did stoke my curiosity.. perhaps she's right I thought, what do I know.. over the last few years I've come across evidence that average IQ of Africans is seventy.. Well I thought, maybe that explains why the old lady I did the garden for believed they were like children in some way, perhaps it wasn't racism but honest observation.. As for our dolelites, I wonder, if they were forced to take an IQ test how the average would work out?.. I have a suspicion the average score wouldn't be high.. Imagine if these people were put in charge of the country, I guess Britain wouldn't look much different than any african country within a generation.. It has dawned on me that its not about race (though it is a marker) its about the IQ of a population.. if the population has a low average then that society will struggle to function... How to solve the problem?... Eugenics, if the problem needs sorting then couples with an higher IQ should be encouraged to have more children and couples with a much lower IQ should be encouraged to have less.. Seein as thats not goin to happen then we are stuck with the problem till the cows come home.. Which translates to Africa will always be a shithole, but Europe America and Asia will always dominate the world.. which is a comfort as far as Europe is concerned, seein at thats were I live and I can be thankful we won't one day regress into a second or third rate power any time soon.. the cloud with the silver lining?..
  5. Oh so you can get a mod kit for it, I'll see how much they are and see if its worth it.. as it is I've sort got use to it.. so it might depend on how much it is..
  6. I have the Honda HRX 537, nowt wrong with it.. had it a couple of years.. and had one before I got this one.. The clutch has gone on mine mind, you have to lift it up at the back to pull it backwards... apparently it'd cost as much to fix as buy another.. and thats what I did, I bought the more expensive version, cost me 1600 squid this year.. big mistake, weighs twice as much and when your liftin that thing on an off the truck all day it tells.. I've gone back to using the Honda HRX 537 bloke clutch or no broke clutch.. I'll be getting another when it gives up the ghost, the other lump will be held in reserve for bigger jobs... what a waste of money.. at least for me, most of my jobs are regular garden jobs.. The Honda HRX 537 is perfectly fine for those jobs... Can't speak for other mowers, never used them, always stuck to honda as theres a dealership near where I live... apparently Viking are the dogs Bllks, but at those prices I wont be bothrin..
  7. If the problem seems to be holding onto staff then theres a ready answer out there.. Instead of thinking money, think treats.. take your staff for a meal, a day out with pay climbing Snowdon(one of my favorites).. If staff can see past the grind and occasionally expect a treat they're more likely to stick around..
  8. Immigration is a toxic subject, but it is, or was, the number one concern on the doorstep.. As a scientific socialist, (by that I mean good social policy aught be science based) I have to look at immigration as much as I can in a scientific manner.. Which is unfortunate as some of the science is pretty troubling..
  9. Do some research you retard instead of jumping to conclusions... Its people like you without a clue what you're talking about that has got us into this mess to begin with... I stated facts, you react emotionally to those facts... you're a retard if ever there was one..... a little learning is a dangerous thing..
  10. What you tryin to prove? my point?... Look, Africa by an large is a continent of numpties, sure theres the odd outleir out there but by and large most are statistically retarded if measured by IQ.. now don't be gettin all fired up because they're black, as far as I'm concerned if the stats were that africans were on an equal level or even higher than european IQ I'd be singing their praises and shipping them over by the boat load.. but its not the case is it?.. Equally, most people in the Middle East or North Africa have below our own IQ's, so why import those as well... The truth is a country is only as good as its people, ship in the crap and whats gonna happen? the country's gonna go downhill.. So what are we left with?.. other Europeans or East Asians.. or we could just as easily breed our own and be done with importing all the crap from god knows where...
  11. Just to take a different slant on the subject of immigration, too much immigration can and does destabilize an electorate.. Angela Merkle let in more than one million migrants without any regard for the consequences.. One year later Britain voted to leave the EU.. I'd say the greatest disaster to befall Britain was a direct result of immigration... Matelots right on the money to be concerned about mass immigration, as should everyone else if they know whats good for em.. The least we should ask is what kind of migrant we want, putting aside race it should be based on IQ, less than 100 and you don't stand a chance.. Perhaps that might be a winning ticket on immigration, we want to increase the average IQ not lower it, and lower it is exactly what we're doin importing every retard with a ticket to get here... The jews have how many Noble prizes? how many have black Africans?.. case closed.. base immigration on IQ and until we do shut it down completely.. we have enough work shy numpties of our own to be goin on with...
  12. I have a tenuous link to the Brady case, I do a garden for a policemen who searched the moors for those missing children, retired now of course.. As to Brady, as my dad would say, not fit't burn that mon... I'd of fed his ashes to the pigs myself.. a much more fitting end to his life..
  13. Sixty fives the new fifty five!!!!... so your not much older than me!!!... congrats to your dad by the way, 93's more than a good run..
  14. when I was a lad we burned coal, not sure how much that dates me but I'll hazard a guess you're not past hundred yet..
  15. Since I was a lad I've never come across a cord, only on a utube vid by americans or canandians have I seen reference to a cord, so obviously I've no idea what a cord is other than a guess.. which I imagined was something along the lines of two or three dumpy bags worth of uncut firewood.. So no, now I know what a cord is, 4*4*8 of uncut wood I won't be arguing that the definition is rubbish... Though I might add, it seems odd that one cord of wood might be somewhat less than another cord of wood.. best change selling cord to a measure of weight, qualifying it by being dry or wet.. soft or hard..
  16. A cord of wood seems to be whatever you want it to be.. seems its just a stack of wood piled into a manageable cube.. cut six foot lengths an stack em six foot high, cut eight ft lengths stack em eight ft high.. I imagine a cord is corruption of cube... sort of like "sik em", is a corruption of seek them out.. just a theory mind, but it sort of makes sense... So when I say a cord has no definitive definition I mean its not like theres an imperial cord that every other cord can be measured against. like a gallon or inch..
  17. Interesting thread. So cordwood is a generic term for unprocessed firewood, and a cord is a stack of wood without any definitive definition.. other than its the same wood stacked in a pile.. For some reason I imagined a certain weight of wood was involved.. a cord of wood being a ton or half a ton, nope, its just a pile of wood stacked neatly.. sort of?
  18. Well, ladder work on a tree can be dangerous, just as chainsaw work on a tree can be dangerous, whats important is not if ladder work is dangerous but was my story funny?...
  19. They're an heart attack waiting to happen, thats what they are..
  20. I've done a couple of jobs over the years were the branch shot back into the ladders nearly sending me flying.. still, they do come in handy for getting up an down a tree.. the only dodge with a ladder is getting it up and tyin it in in the first place.. they can be a right knee knocker if you're lean't on a thin or bendy branch to get up in the first instance... but, a calculated risk is how I see it.. I wouldn't ever bother with those three layered ones though.. fk that.. My favorite ladders are the Japanese tripod ladders I have for edge work.. wouldn't be without them these days... speaking of step ladders for edge work, sometimes you happen to forget to take your ladders and end up asking a client if you can borrow theirs.. last time I did that, the step ladders were a bit rickety.. at one point I lost my balance and knew I was goin flyin.. quick as a flash I flung the hedgeclippers one way, the centrifugal force of the action sending me the other way.... Thank fk for that I thought as I fell to the ground in the opposite direction... wait, what the fk?.. the damned things bounced off the floor and pirouetted towards me at full rev's... luckily they came to a halt as they got to me, landing right on top of my legs.. lesson, use tripod ladders if you have them.. and don't imagine that the hedgecutters can't find their way back to you if you fling em as far as you can.. they can...
  21. Hiking sandals aren't flip flops.. design has moved on over the years..... And, Husqvarna aren't shyte, I never said that?.. I just said Stih are better... for me anyways, dealer network not two minutes down the street..
  22. Right on Stubby, I know best... don't you forget it!!!!!!!.. My own philosophy on being out in the great outdoors is to keep it simple.. less is more.. and, if you're gonna be gettin scratched up an have scree whack away at your ankles, I suggest you keep away from such areas till you have your wits about you... What, with your worry for twisted ankles and scree blasting you around the legs at every turn, I'm wondering if you should be out in the hills in the first place... Perhaps a dog for you, it might be a safer option.. a dog, a local park, a half hr walk... much better for one as clumsy as you..
  23. Can't comment on grousing as I've never done it, nor ever want to, I prefer to see my grouse gettin on in the world not flying around dodging shotgun pellets.. My argument is also about getting your feet wet as well.. do you attempt to keep your feet dry or accept they're gonna get wet but make preparation in that regards.. IE, so my feet are pissed through, but so what, with these sandals they'll be dry again in a minute.. As to mountain rescue teams, set in their ways no doubt.. like anyone else who wears boots, not up to scratch on footwear evolution of the last three decades.. What does an ultra runner wear?.. boots? I think not, what do fell runners wear, boots, I think not.. you'd think a fell runner would be cautious on account of his ankles gettin twisted every minute on the fells but no, they elect to use running shoes for a reason.. Can you think why a fell runner wears running shoes and not boots?..
  24. marvelous, instead of getting wet through from the outside, you'll sauna your feet from the inside..
  25. If your walking around half the day grousing I suppose a pair of wellies might suffice, but if your talking distance then running shoes or hiking sandals.. with sandals, you get your feet pissed through an five minutes later they're dry again.. try drying a pair of boots out in five minutes?.. If you walked forty miles in a day in a pair of boots, might of added half a ton of weight to your trip by the time you've done... Unless I was doin nothing more than half a dozen miles I'd plumb for running shoes over boots every time..
