Vespasian replied to digaholedumper's topic in General chat
No, you are.. using Clarkson to promote brexit when he voted to remain.. what a numpty!!!!!.. Anyways, a change of tack.. my spirits having been lifted after the Tory rebellion on Wednesday.. the brextemists have been poleaxed in Parliament.. their days are numbered... Its 80 lunatics against the rest of Parliament combined from now on... see ya later brexit, its over... -

what an idiot........ -
The point I was tryin to make is............if you have money to gamble on assets, money you can afford to throw away.. then get into gold, not because its price is stable, it isn't.. but because its value will rise in hard times.... Thats good for obvious reasons, and if you have money in other stocks that fall, it will balance out any loss. hopefully!!!!.. Not that I take my own advice, I never gamble, I can't stand doin the lottery as its gambling to me.. My philosophy is, if you want money then work for it, if you want more money then work harder.. if you're gonna gamble, gamble on your work ethic to see you through... who respects a lottery winner?.. who respects someone who started cleaning toilets and now owns his own company?. My philosophy lesson for the day, invest in yourself... that'll be ten dollars Matelot... thanks

Very funny... As it is I never did buy a VCR or Betamax.. when they were new they were too expensive, when they came cheap I couldn't be bothered.. I can't think of anything more depressing than watchin somethin after its bin on't telly... life's to short for that shit... these days I just watch utube,, much more interesting than watching people prance around on the soaps pretending to be someone else.. as to knowing which platforms might win out, simple. its usually the one that comes out first.. much like bitcoin.. thats why its all the advantages over its rivals.. thats why your one pound bitcoin might turn into a million pound bitcoin... though its somethin of a long shot even at that..
-
Yep, thats why we have a state pension.. not many have that sort of loose change knockin about..
-
at least half a million, in fact thats the amount most people need to pay in to get a half decent pension..
-
just got round to reading this thread, pretty interesting and enlightening as to how people manage their pensions.. My pension plan is to have none, I live frugally when and where | can, always have.. so getting by on little is gonna be how I go about my pension business.. not for everyone I know, and thats where my next bit of advice comes into play... related to bitcoin in some regards.. split your pension into two accounts.. perm any one of the previous mentioned, and put the other half of your savings into gold.. I've seen loads of vids of top pro's advising people to get into gold, and for the most part ain't wrong to advise it.. unlike stocks and shares, gold goes up in value during a recession. so you get something of a balance of risk with gold.. Then theres what the world looks like in fifty years, not that I expect to be around in fifty years mind.. though, it might just be possible ermm.. anyways, long term. gold.. stocks and shares might be a thing now, how will they perform in future?.

how often do people water tree's in the wood?.. there's your answer.

I remember turnin the telly over to find somethin more interesting once over.. low and behold theres Cheggars prancing around bollock naked with his things hangin out.. never been more shocked in all my life... RIP cheggars

what context?.. a cop got himself worked up, panicked and ended up shooting a man.. the fact that he gave the fella clear orders to do as he was told saved said police officer from being charged with manslaughter... sometimes its as simple as it looks.. just to be sure, I've already searched online for context. was there a terrorist incident in the days leading to this mans death, leading to an enhanced sense of danger for police officers investigating gun related incidents at the time.. Then theres the police training video's.. they have one in america that shows a routine traffic stop, during which the driver of a car gets out the car and unexpectedly slashes at the throat of the officer at the scene.. its much quicker to lunge for a man, than to pull your gun and get a shot in... So officer training is part of the context... At the end of the day, it was a police officer working himself up, simple as that... not fit for purpose, he will be put on traffic duty until he resigns..
-
there was what looked like a handbag on the floor, as the fella got to it it looked like he flung it out the way.. thats why the cop shot him.. still no excuse, it wasp plain as day the couple weren't a threat..
-
Not wrong about that, police officers are supposed to calm the situation down, not inflame it.. this bozo did exactly that. wound himself up to such a pitch he couldn't make a rational judgement.. Which reminds me, doin gardens I find the odd thing here an there, I found a gun once, got my friend to polish it up, (he does fk all but go on about his guns an torches) and see if it was real or not.. turned out its been disarmed with a ballbearing stuck down the barrel... asked when I wanted it back!!!, you fkin what I said... I'll have police marksmen outside the door within the week with all these kids round here I says.. I can't stand cheeky kids.. anyways, next time he asks if I want it back I'll be doubly sure to tell him to do one...
-
Thats hard to watch, the poor fella.. Is it murder though?. afraid not. was it right?, No, far from it... was common sense used by the police officer?, seems to me it wasn't... no doubt the officer concerned will be gotten rid for poor judgement in time... Not much consolation for the victim and his family though is it?..

Anyone changed a mk3 hilux gearbox and some hilux pictures ?
Vespasian replied to william127's topic in Arb-Trucks
I had a MK3 years back. I changed the gearbox out a time or two.. shouldn't take more than a day if you get stuck in.. from what I remember its a pretty straight forward job.. -
Just a guess, but I expect commercial customers might see 800 quid as you rounding up in your favour, putting their backs out... On the other hand, if you say 350 to a domestic customer they may suspect you've not tried to fleece em by rounding up to the hundred... thus gaining some sympathy... all a guess mind, but it sort of makes sense.

I don't understand the mechanics of buying and selling bitcoin , but I certainly know about human behavior in a crisis.. To whit, your million pounds worth of bitcoin can be worst jack shit if the market crashes in bitcoin... and that includes if you know everything you can know about bitcoin.. And I do forge my own life just like you thank you very much.. only I can see a scam when I see one... and speaking of scams, how is it someone comes on here bleating about bitcoin and how great it is, and within days bitcoin rockets in price?... Perhaps because out there on the net there are thousands of scammers all doin the same thing all at the same time.. pushing up interest in bitcoin, with the hope that that interest generates sales... Funny that in it?... Now, seems to me bitcoin might be a good idea, scams to inflate its price aside.. But we won't know that till the next recession bears down on us.. Until then the juries out.. and until then its an out and out gamble having anything to do with it..
-
Yea, see how it works, good idea if you want to speculate on the thing.. my concern is a downturn in the economy.. this money might evaporate overnight.. On the other hand it might well act as a safe haven asset.. until we see how the herd acts, I think it irresponsible to go abroad singing its praises.. its a dangerous gamble until we see evidence to the contrary..

Brexit ! what will this mean ? ( lets get a good thread going )
Vespasian replied to digaholedumper's topic in General chat
Seems all the evidence is pointing to a soft Brexit if May can get her way.. Shadowing the EU as much as is legally possible without upsetting those in the EU... which begs the question, why bother in the first place?. David Davies and his impact assessments. What a f*ing scumbag.. that scumbag never intended any detailed analysis on brexit's impact to begin with... Anyone of the dozens of concerned business men who went to see him and explain away their upcoming concerns in regards Brexit were advised that if they said anything negative about brexit during the meeting he would close the meeting down... why, why would the dirty rotten tosser do that?... Because if he was later questioned in Parliament after a brexit disaster, he could plausibly say no one ever mentioned it could be so bad.. Explains why these impact assessments are a figment of his imagination... he should be shacked. Then again, has he not been sidelined by May. she knows how useless he is... credit were credits due, May can spot a dumbbell when she see's one. As to the DUP, I'll hazard a guess they're weighing up losing a billion over telling May to jump off a cliff.. spring election anyone?... And now to Corbyn, that numpty couldn't score in a brothel.. what a waste of time.. god help us if there is an election. -
Steam, the online gaming platform has announced it will no longer trade using bitcoin, citing the rising cost of transactions and Bitcoins volatility. The real test for Bitcoin is the next rescission.. how human behavior, herd instinct bears down on it.. theres gonna be a lot of nervous bitcoin holders crapping themselves at the slightest mention of a downturn.. that in itself might force them to bale.. spreading the panic they fear most...

What happens during an economic downturn? People turn to gold as a safe haven for their assets... why, because gold has kept its value for thousands of years.. Bitcoin.. theoretically bitcoin might overtake gold as a safe haven for those with the money.. but it all depends on trust.. If bitcoin loses value in a run up to a recession or during it, then bitcoin is just another ponzy currency hovering up suckers on the way.. If it begins to act as a safe haven option, then it has an interesting future in my opinion.. Its all about trust at the end of the day..

Do I do any tree work?... what in hells bells has that to do with the price of bread?.. Am I not allowed to give my opinion on world events if I didn't do any tree work?... Not that I don't do any tree work, a gardener with a rope who does the odd tree, does that count?.... You might want get back to reading other threads as well if you don't like what you see here.. no ones forcing you to read through this thread are they?.... Finally............. what you see as insults are seen by me as telling the truth.. Media MP's and other low life who argued for Brexit are scum, the voters who voted out, are lemmings... In fact, you're something of a lemming yourself, you read through the thread, came across a couple of our members baiting me without reply, and took it as being safe for you to join in lemming like and do the same... Unfortunately for you, I sort of like Kev and Skylock amoungst others who might chip, but you.... I don't think I've ever come across anything of interest you might of said on Arbtalk... -

Errm, the scumbags are the Tory scum MP's who have over the years been busy working to undermine the work of the EU.. another scumbag is Doris, who doesn't even give a shit about Brexit but used brexit as way to garner support for his leadership bid.. Nigel Farage, another scumbag, (though I sort of like this scumbag), at least he's open and honest about his motives... The Voters, I suspect most not to be scumbags, I see em more as lemming being lead by the scumbags over the cliff.. And no.... I can't see one thing positive about leaving the EU..
