Theres nothing wrong with the add if you see it for it is.. An add for a kids hoodie... No, thoughts can have no cause.. thought can just be. no need for a cause... which is not to say that all thoughts come out of thin air, but that they can....

Well I'll think on that in the next hr, I've just had a thought... if, I'm right.. then it answers another question thats been puzzling me for decades.. it proves the Universe had no cause... well hints at it at least!!!

Oh, I believe it does.. if the universe came into existence without need of a cause then not everything needs to have a cause to produce an effect... The human mind might act in the same way, we imagine cause, but we can't know that.. Just as the universe has no cause, so to the thoughts we produce may as easily have no cause..

Just skimmed over an article by Russle.. heres an interesting snippet that seems to align with what I've been puzzling over... more than likely why I mention the universe having a cause.. When a man does not himself know why he acted as he did, we may search his unconscious for a cause, but it never occurs to us that there may have been no cause.

Looks like I might of thrown a spanner in the works... Looks to me if you really want to use cause and effect you have to prove the universe came into existence because of a cause..

but it begs the question, if the big bang had no cause, then not everything is the result of cause and effect...

If free will is predicated on cause and effect..and if the beginning of the universe had no cause then how would that fit into the debate about free will?..

I'd hazard a guess hiding in that stat is working shifts... its part of the work load is it not?.... so, point proven I do believe.
