Oh but I do understand what bitcoin is.. its a gambling site masquerading as a crypto currency... the fact that it pretends to be something its not is what annoys.. its a lie.. so, if you engage in bitcoin trading you're part of the moral bankruptcy of the enterprise.. as far as I'm concerned, theres one legitimate form of gambling, and thats when you invest in hard assets to increase your business growth.. Gambling on horses, or crypto currency is nothing but a sign of moral bankruptcy.. by engaging in both, you're promoting idleness and sloth as an alternative to hard work and industry... Thats why its morally bankrupt as an enterprise, and thats why you should be ashamed to be part of it...

it might be "fun for you" but not the lemming getting in when they don't understand the risks, or worse do understand but get in anyways.. its not goin to be a laughing matter when people lose money on an algorithm is it.. And no I haven't a clue why bitcoin was invented, or its original intention, I got bored real fast looking into it... although I do understand whats inflating its price at present.. loads of scumbags trawling the Internets with spam on the subject.. the very same people you wont hear from again when the price tanks and they've sold up a day or two before that happens.. If you've made some money on it good luck, but if your asking me your as bad as the thieves for supporting this shisterismn.. you should be ashamed of yourself..

What does it matter if Greeks turned to bitcoin, Greek citizens are likely to be hoodwinked as anyone else.. same goes for the Chinese.. You might argue the Chinese and Greeks imagine bitcoin to be a safe bet, seein as they might of jumped on bitcoin during their crisis.. But theres a difference to what I'm talking about.. The Chinese devaluation was local, as was the Greek crisis... What happens during a downturn is no place is safe... no asset seems safe.. If stocks begin to fall around the world, were does the Greek look for a safe haven then?.. The essence of perceived value is trust.. You buy a house because you trust its value to go up over time.. you buy gold because its intrinsic value has remained steady for thousands of years... Houses, you can live in, Gold you can hold in your hands, touch it, feel it, marvel at its beauty.. what can you do with Bitcoins?.. look at a string of numbers in an algorithm.. I can't see anyone holding onto an algorithm in a crisis.. Dan494 Yep, exactly what I suspect, thousands if not millions of emails have been sent out by Bitcoin insiders and their discipels to talk up the currency... if you can rightly call it a currency..

betwixt ruminating on a topic or two brought up in this forum, one being bitcoin.. Its struck me a day or two ago that bitcoin as in investment is about the most dangerous out there.. perhaps if bitcoin acts in the manner it was intended then it might be OK but as a speculative adventure, its gonna make a lot of people bitcoin broke within hrs one day.. I thought maybe its saving grace might be that it might act as a safe haven investment harbor, but the more I think on it the less likely I see that happening... human psychology being what it is, I just can't see people having confidence in a bunch of random numbers generated on the internet in times of crisis.. In fact I think the opposite be would true.. I think the first mention of an economic slowdown, bitcoin will be one of the assets dumped by investors.. In fact if thats true and bitcoin acts as I suspect, then its only value to most people is as a warning to us that a recession is on the way if bitcoin tanks.. the canary in the coalmine...

I'll concede the point that we have no free will, but what I wont do is accept that that excuses crime and criminal behavior.. Free will or no free will, environment shapes events one way or the other.. the idea of time in prison concentrates the mind of criminals.. thus the mind is once again shaped by its environment.. I don't buy the argument that prison increases re offending rates as well... I see it like this, an offender does time in prison, they find it ain't as bad as they imagined and calculate that crime is worth investing their time in seein as the punishment is not half as bad as they thought.. We should incarcerate people for shorter time spans but make prisons an appalling experience for the criminally minded, see if they want to go back after spending months in isolation with regular beating and starvation diets.. Murderers should be confined in the same manner but with the bonus of a lottery drawn out weekly that picks out one for weekly execution.. Lets see if that has an effect on a criminals state of mind... As to why we're now talking about criminal behavior, thats because it effects other people in a negative manner.. two people falling for each other and getting on with life doesn't have the same effect that some criminal running off with your TV and car does..

I look forward to shorter days myself.. favorite time of year..

OK, done enough ruminating on this for the day.. Watched a vid or two, even watched one you got your idea's from I dare say... Sam Harris... then watched one from someone arguing free will does exist, but turns out it was some bible basher gettin in his twopence worth.. Anyways, thinkin on the subject in my own time after watchin a few vids... Does it matter?.. does it matter if we do the things we do because of predeterminismn or through an act of free will?.. and the answer is NO. Crime and criminality usually get dragged up on debates about free will.. I couldn't help it gov!!!!.. it was the other me that made me do it.. thus giving thieving *unt's an excuse and mitigation... Well thats OK if your gonna lean on mitigation for your defense... Well, Mitigation ain't what it used to be.. originally mitigation was introduced to explain errant behavior, and help psychologists to understand criminal behavior... it was never intended to be used as a device to excuse criminal behavior.. Criminal behavior is what it is, its simple.. you break the law, the law breaks you.. No ifs or buts, no it wasn't my fault, just black and white you did it or you didn't.. if you did it, then you get shit on in court..... If we go down the road of two actors at play, then this vid might give you an idea of the confusion that might entail in courts of law.. a Sovereign citizen in court arguing the toss.. not about free will but does have a bearing on the debate... plus its pretty funny...

Bit of head scratchier this subject.. Seems to me the environment forces people down lanes of travel, but the individual can choose which road to turn off on.. or is it that a person thinks he freely took road A, but unbeknownst to him the environment incrementally forced him down that road?... I've have to ruminate on this an get back later.. I'll have an answer before the days out...
-
Is free will free?... On some levels the brain might work on auto pilot, but it also has a lot to do with environment.. IE, sure, your, brain might make choices pre determined for itself, but its the environment that shapes your choices... In that respect your free will is a slave to the environment.. If its raining out, you get a coat on.. you don't chose a coat if its sunny.. If a man kills his cheating wife, as much as environment pushed him in that direction, he still choose to kill his wife.. he had an option to not kill his wife.. He/his brain had a choice. the killers actions should not be judged on how the environment shaped his action, but on his crime... In the real world, it doesn't matter if your choices in life are predetermined or not, what counts is bringing your choices to account...

Might be an idea to teach children about the Spartans.. Helen of troy was said to be the most beautiful woman in the world.. Spartan woman were the most desirable in Greece... Because their woman were expected train as hard as men..keep themselves fit an healthy looking.. Mind you its not just women who like a chocolate bar is it, looking at a lot of fella's they're just as guilty of gluttony themselves... Might just be time to engage in a little fat shaming if your asking me.. I tried it on my ex the other month. I go round for a chinwag and gossip every now and then, and I thought it was a good idea to tell her about a friend of here's I'd seen goin on runs the last few weeks.. Mentioned how fit she was beginning to look.. Two minutes later I was turning the key in my Vito as she was thumping at the window tryin to put it through.. Women just can't take a hint to slim down..

Brexit ! what will this mean ? ( lets get a good thread going )
Vespasian replied to digaholedumper's topic in General chat
I doubt we'll ever see a referendum in Britain for a long time.. Reading between the lines it looks to me like both sides have decided to fight brexit out at the next election. in the coming weeks, the Tories are gonna have to explain to Europe what they mean by brexit... this is gonna open up the divisions in the Tory party as each side fights for its own version of brexit.. hard or soft.. If the hardliners win, they'll get shut of May shortly thereafter.. leaving clear water between them and Labour, who'll be fighting for a soft brexit... if the brextremists win in the Tory Party, they also have to take on board they'll still be in a minority in their own party.. meanwhile a couple of interesting polls have come to light, suggesting support for brexit is beginning to ebb somewhat.. appendage.. Micheal Gove on one his trips to the US.. wanted Trump to once again publicly commit to making a trade deal with Britain a priority.. He wouldn't do it.. -
Though it might be difficult to ponder on, its not difficult to work the root of the problem out.. The Persians, might be convoluted but it was those retards that changed early Islamic doctrine to suit their attitude to war. If only Muslims would educate themselves on early Islam, they may just soften their attitude to violence.. is it gonna happen?.. not in our lifetimes..

Vespasian replied to digaholedumper's topic in General chat
Is it not over ?.. Parliament has just given notice to Theresa May that it will have something to say in regards when brexit happens.. so what do we have, 80 Tory hardliners and a handful of others from various other parties verses the rest of em.. If they don't like what Theresa May comes back with, (to much like a hard brexit) she'll be blocked.. what can the hardline brexiteers do now?.. They can unseat May in the next few months if they want, but they're still gonna be left with a majority against them.. so what would be the point?.. all they can do now is wait on the inevitable.. the dreams of a hard brexit falling into the dust.. Which leaves us with the only option available to May at present, the softest of brexits... shadowing the EU without any say on how Europe is run.. a vassal State as some have described it... Hows that gonna sound to most people?.. well they ain't gonna like it and it'll dawn on most sensible people that if we're paying for it, we might as well be in it.. Yep, they may as well pack it in now and save us from a four years of getting nothin done on account of their glorious misadventure.. numpties.. -

If you didn't notice, Clarksons point was he could go anywhere in Europe without to much trouble, IE business can do the same.. all those cars trucks and other sundries will go from open access to having to spend hrs filling in forms if we leave the EU... The only reason we're talking about trade is we have promised Europe we're gonna be stayin in Europe and paying our bills.. the border with Ireland sorted that one out... -
Now why would I do that?... mindless fodder for the mindless millions.. much like the tabloids.. Give me the internet anyday of the week..

hahaha I like this fella, came across his channel earlier today...
