  1. Some really good reviews so think I will pay the extra and get a pair. Now I just need to comfirm the size 😁
  2. Thanks guys for the reply. I found some on ebay from oz at a cost of £280 inc delivery. Do you found them much cooler then other trousers and worth spending the money. I have some pfanner arborists but still find them hot once you to 24 degrees. Is the import tax the same as VAT at 20%
  3. Has anyone suggestions for the best place to order the above trousers from. Treesuff is one but wounding if there is anywhere in the uk that import them. Thanks in advance.
  4. Reduction might sometimes be pointless but not always. The Eucalyptus is done every 3 years as maintenance. If you didn't reduce it then it would out grow its location and end up being felled. By pruning every 3 years you have a nice size tree in a suitable location offer lots to the environment and providing screening.
  5. This Eucalyptus only took 2 hours with two climbers but I know if I did it on my own it would have taken the best part of a day.
  6. Scyamore reduction I did last year. Hard to do but not impossible to get out on the tips. After 22 years I still enjoy reduction the most, but do appreciate an additional climber on bigger trees
  7. Anyone out there on this rope. Can't decide to try out this one or Teufelberger Xstatic. Thanks
  8. That would be a great help and save some money. Ramps worked a treat and very easy to load on to the van, really appreciate the help.
  9. Log grab is the thing I use the most. I have the smaller bucket but have yet to use it. The only thing else I need to get is a plate with a tow ball to move the chipper around.
  10. Has anyone tried the above rope. Can't find any reviews on line. Thanks in advance
  11. You will be better off on full rate rather then flat for tree work.
  12. Had my first really wet day last week and can say that I had dry socks at the end of the day.
  13. I'm based just outside West London so most houses have small access points, steps and all sorts of things in the way before you get to the stump. The HB20 is perfect for what I do but I would not like to be grinding every day with it as its just so heavy. To be honest it is so well maded that with good maintenance they would easily last 20 years plus.
  14. Even taken it through a few houses. Can't belive they got up to £12500, I managed to get mine for 8k.
  15. Hb20 is brilliant bit of kit and will go through a 25inch gate. Only problem is they have stopped making them so you would have to find a second hand one. Only downsize is your body will feel it after a days grinding. Love a sg40 but would only get it in 50% of the gardens I work in.
  16. I got a pair and so far really happy with them. Really comfortable and light and a lot of movement when climbing around the tree. Good grip and spikes are fine with them. Seem to hold up well and hopefully will get two years wear. Keep them on for driving. There is a vid on utube about them and it show that when you put them on, place your foot in side ways and then twist the boot and your feet will just slip in. I will buy a second pair.
  17. Just about to order a set but one last question. Does you rumps have sides or just flat. Thanks
  18. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

  19. Really appreciate the time you have taken with the info. Has really helped me out. Thanks
  20. Thanks for coming back to me. There not far from me so will pop alone to look. Do you remember what model rumps you got. Bit of a mind field to work out which ones are best. Thanks
  21. Can ask the make of rumps you use. Thanks in advance.
  22. I think the biggest problem with recruitment is the lack of new people wanting to do tree work. I heard that Merrist Wood has so far only 7 people boom this year to do any courses related to tree work. When I was there in 2000 I was 1 of 40 on the nca plus the guys doing the diploma and also the 10 week course. You can offer all sorts but if there's not the work force the companys offer the least money don't stand a chance of recruiting. The other problem with Glendale and other firms that size is there are to many middle people.
