  1. Can't see the hinge so can't comment. Lombardies catch the wind like ship's sails though, I'd say that was a big factor. No one was hurt, that's the main thing.
  2. If you charged enough you wouldn't have to work till 10.
  3. Brilliant stuff, well done. it's amazing how they used to do this work in the old days before power/precision tools. There's quite a lot of old cartwheels hanging around in barns out here. I used this one as a sort of chandelier.
  4. [ame] [/ame] The way this thread is going, it's time for this. (Some strong language, sorry)
  5. I just take it into the shop, put it on the counter and get them to knock up two as there's a 15% discount, a second one is always handy. Price? No idea:001_smile: a few quid here or there doesn't bother me. I know the second statement sort of contradicts the first!
  6. IMO, the capital outlay to start a small outfit (one gang outfit) is really very small considering the money that CAN be made. 10k will get you a passable tipper and second hand chipper, Throw in your climbing gear and some saws and you're in business. I'm sure your bar owner spent more than that!
  7. That one looks like a fly to me. I'm no entomologist though (unlikely you'd have thought that, but I wanted to clarify!)
  8. Isn't it? iPad pics, nothing fancy.
  9. You sir, are a prince amongst men! Thank you.
  10. My opinion. (Which I have given before) If you want to compete on a level playing field with all the others a 30+ hp chipper is a minimum. Be it GM, TW or whatever.
  11. So, I'm a reasonably able googler, but I cannot find an ident for this bizarre beauty. Taken in my garden today. Bear in mind this is SW France, I'd like to impress people on FB with an ident, so thanks in advance!
  12. How was London a better olympics? Rio has only just started!
  13. Fwiw I've had one for 14 years without an issue, doesn't come out that often of course. (Edit, mine's an 088)
  14. Kerikey! Touch wood we're still fairly crime free here.
  15. I had a couple of issues on the Forst, one was rather embarrassing my doing, one wasn't. They were pretty good about resolving it, they did show a reluctance to come out to me, it was a long way to be fair, up your neck of the woods in fact. I'm glad I hung onto the TW though. Its already repaid what it was worth second hand by covering downtime on the Forst.
  16. Half of what you paid for it.
  17. I've never been less interested in any olympics. Maybe I'll get engaged as we get going.
  18. Probably a wise choice, as far as France is concerned most decent campsites/resorts are booked in the spring, they're very organised about that sort of thing. We'll see you next year!
  19. Ok, Devils advocacy. Is it really the TOs job to retain "as many trees on a development site as possible"? Shouldn't it be to retain as many as is reasonable or sustainable or some other word. When I see opinions like that from TOs I think it would confirm to any developers that TOs are "the enemy" and seek to retain trees out of spite or simply to justify their jobs.
