  1. Getting older means that little pleasures are to be treasured, give us three random small things that brighten up your existence. 1: Coming down the stairs every morning to see my dog jumping at the door eager to go for a walk. 2: Johnnie Walker’s Sounds of the Seventies, Sunday summer afternoons going back in time 40 odd years. 3: A glass of wine or two on Friday Night after completing an incident free, well paid, good weeks work.
  2. Walk away from a perfectly ordinary well paid job? Price it, do it, cash the cheque, start the next job. Client wants it done like that, owner of trees doesn’t mind. Get on with it.
  3. As long as you word exactly what you’re going to do in the quote, it’s fine. The disclaimer idea is bad imo.
  4. Don’t be afraid of credit/debt, it’s a business tool same as any other.
  5. No argument from me on the towed 230, astonishingly good machine.
  6. 230 tracked 1280 kg 280 tracked 1600kg for those interested.
  7. Wide bodied chaser, meebees.
  8. Well if that’s the case, happy days!
  9. It’s a mystery to me why people go for tracked 230 (or a tracked ST6) when the larger engined version is available at only a bit more money. Ii’s not like weight is an issue.
  10. Bob leaves waste wood at gate, goblins take logs. Everyone wins.
  11. They’re almost always in the vans or by the bed.
  12. This happened to me 10 years ago. Takes the guess work out of it. I get a dozen pairs at a time from the pound shop. They go walkies a lot.
  13. It’s FA cup final day so I’ll be switching between the two. Good luck to them.
  14. Timber lorry came today, he had to back down a narrow farm track and negotiate a couple of decent stems through a couple of ancient stone pillars and wangle them onto his truck. He gets it for free so no moaning allowed!
  15. Go to the beginning of the thread, all will become clear....
  16. It’s regrowth Gary, call it water shoots if you like as a derogatory term. How is regrowth an unwanted consequence of pruning?
  17. Not accepted advice as far as I’m concerned. You can hit it pretty hard, they come back vigorously. Don’t be too precious with it.
  18. Saw that also, I hope that was the guy getting up looking dazed, seemingly unhurt. I suppose that’s nervous laughter from the camera person.
