  1. Yeah, I don’t know how to put this, but I’m kind of a big deal in the US. I have many leather bound books and my house smells of rich mahognany.
  2. Grinds like butter, easy peasy.
  3. And look at the infrastructure of Russia, shit roads, shit housing shit everything. No one likes taxes, but they’re useful.
  4. Those lucky Russians eh!
  5. Hey, the dog sitter has work! Another tick in the plus column.
  6. Let’s be honest now, there have been some unexpected benefits from all this shenanigans. I will now list some incidental arisings that I think would generally be considered as positive. 1: Artisans or tradesmen like us have never been so busy. 2: Dogs have spent more days with their WFH owners. 3: Businesses have come to terms with their people hybrid working or WFH full time, with no loss of productivity. 4: No more social kissing (especially welcome if you live in France) 5: Pointless air travel has reduced (look to the skies) 6: Many people have re-examined their lives and have changed accordingly to more fulfilling careers. You can of course flood this nascent thread with foam flecked fury if you like but any other unexpected welcome side effects anyone has noticed?
  7. I find explaining it one of my favourite things. TBF the natives are just as bad. ’
  8. Thought so too, got plenty of that, so I’ll use that.
  9. Anyone can tell me what hydraulic oil to use? could do with a top up.
  10. Understood, but it’s a lot of moolah for a bit of pull.
  11. You already have some impressive pulling power just with the machine. Not sure if a winch has more pull.
  12. Just done some googling, I see your point. I thought it would be like a forestry winch you stuff in the ground.
  13. If you’ve buried the bottom of the winch in the ground, like you’re supposed to, I don’t think that’s an issue.
  14. The other thing that was pointed out to me by someone who used the Vermeer skid steer stump grinder attachment, it ties up the machine to a job on site whilst there are usually many other more useful things it could be doing, lifting, shifting and tidying.
  15. You cannot see the stump from it though!
  16. I have not heard any good reports about it.
  17. Apart from anything it’s brutalising the Avant. Its not built for that sort of stuff.
  18. Always loved this gif
  19. Even made the wife laugh when I read it out to her!
  20. ‘Potential’
  21. Wouldn’t anything that uses mapping need internet connectivity? Apart from a paper map I mean. I’m no expert, not even close, but how else?
  22. Windy (not me kite surfing btw) IMG_2010.MOV
  23. It’s a horse chestnut that’s been topped 20/25 years ago. They don’t like it much and it’s usually a precursor to this sort of decline. It is an easy enough dismantle for any competent tree bloke, no need for any traversing or any of that.
  24. Why don’t you guys use what3words?
