  1. Never seen or heard of that. Seems to work.
  2. Turn your phone off or get another line. Most people will expect to leave messages.
  3. We were just out walking the dog and my wife has Plant Net on her phone. Correctly identified Verbascum, Hibiscus and Milkweed. Have to say I was very impressed.
  4. The chicken scene with the Hound in GOT. Not the fight, the lead up. ”you’re a talker, listening to talkers makes me thirsty” (Can’t post links to vids for some reason)
  5. Had exactly the same on my 560/562, it was wear on some little grey thing in the mechanism. I ended up buying two new side plates, not really too pricey. edit. The 550s are the same part, no difference in size.
  6. Dunno tbh, one of the big ones, think it was Picture This.
  7. ID threads used to be fun didn’t they? These days with the plant ID apps on the phone (my nephew showed me his and I was astonished at the accuracy) I wonder why anyone bothers to ask.
  8. I would say 5 meters is too long for starters, I had one and cut it down to a more manageable 3 meters. Flipping up a big tree is more difficult than a smaller one so you can expect to do it slower. Species is important as well, some, like oak, will often have a snag or a bulge at the other side that holds you up so practice walking around on the flip line to cut them off.
  9. Yeah, we love it. Put a big long branch in, then throw some wood on the top of it and the branch acts like a conveyor.
  10. Ash takedown, cool summer weather, lovely day for it.
  11. Back in the 90s I didn’t know anyone with a loader to get stuff out of a garden, you just cut it up small carried it out and had your osteopath on speed dial. These days clients should pay a premium for building their extensions across access to their gardens, wankers. If they don’t have at least 36 inches to get some sort of machine in they can pay double, they can deduct it from the extra profit they make on the place when they sell it.
  12. Bollocks to that! (Seriously Joe, bollocks to that)
  13. There’s a long waiting list for new machines, don’t think twice, go and get it, it won’t lose value.
  14. Agreed, should have qualified it. Takedowns are the best work for “the older gentleman“
  15. Will regrow with a vengeance, so no worry there. Creates a rot pocket on the cut so needs redoing every few years, then taking down after 2/3 cycles as fungi start to turn the wood to mush. En Bref, you can do it, but it’s putting off the inevitable.
  16. Climbing is easier than lifting and shifting wood by hand. 58 this year, still at it. Don’t go anywhere on the tree twice, plan your route and be sure it’s all done before moving to the next section.
  17. Maybe they will, I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t. Did the OP buy it new?
  18. It is 7 years old! Buy a new one or fix it, you’ve surely had your money’s worth out of a lightweight chipper. When does it end Karen?
