  1. 100% get the heated handles!
  2. Bumped into this beauty at the Cotswold Animal Park, photo doesn't do it justice! There were some mega trees there, and some mega animals too.
  3. Max Bar Length, perhaps?
  4. Just read your initial post properly.... Sorry I can't advise on what it's like up a tree! The only time mine is near the top of a tree is after I've felled it!
  5. I've got one. Absolutely fantastic saw. I run an 18 inch bar on mine, it doesn't even notice. Used hard in forestry, first thinnings especially, and it's been phenomenonal. Stump up the extra for heated handles too. Buy one, you won't regret it!
  6. Went to Blenheim Palace today...... Sod the building, the trees were unreal!
  7. I'll see your wet ground, and raise your with some not quite so wet ground, lovely timber, and some annoying rhododendrons.
  8. Watching people try to reverse is equal parts amusing and alarming. I often have to reverse my Shogun with logbullet on triple axle trailer on the back, as its quicker and easier than Johnny Ballbag trying to reverse there f#%king Nissan Juke 12ft backwards to a wide spot.
  9. As someone who had to pay to acquire my trailer license, via training and coaching on some very worthwhile topics I must add, I can see this from both sides. One of the biggest concerns I have is that now the terrible drivers I witness on a daily basis who somehow have a license to drive a car alone, are completely free to tow things and make themselves into an even bigger risk. The amount of idiots out there who don’t even understand what the letter on their gearstick is for, let alone how to use it is staggering. And now they can legally be even more of a hazard to everyone else. I feel that having to pay to get your towing license was indeed annoying and often unnecessary, but it did act as a kind of filter to stop the masses doing so. Now it’s going to be a free for all. On the flip side, some really decent lads who cut for me are now going to be able to help me out massively by being able to tow as well. Now this won’t be something I’ll allow lightly, they’ll need to know and show they are capable. But often for the self employed, in forestry and Arb at least, the time and cost it took to get the towing license was too great. There are plus and minus point so both arguments, as always. AllI can say is good luck to everyone!
  10. Volvo V60. Its a bit of a sleeper 😎
  11. Haha! No unfortunately not, I'm looking at "sensible" family estate cars. It's just the particular one I'm looking at has 330bhp 🤪
  12. I've got my eyes on an imported car, originally from Japan. Anyone got experience of living with one? Was it hard to insure etc, parts hard to find and so on?
  13. Lovely Mog though 😍
  14. So many things to cringe at 🤦🏼‍♂️😂
  15. Late to the party, but I run Dewalt gear and find it spot on. Have Impact driver, grease gun, angle Grinder and drill. All batteries interchangeable so happy days. Just need to remember to charge them is all! I must admit the Milwaukee (can't spell it!) Is very good quality, if that bit more pricey than Dewalt.

    Big birch

The site I've been busy slaying Ash on for months has some real big bootie Birch scattered around the spot. I'll try and get some snaps. Alas, many have bootie rot also 😢
  17. Same here but I have a 4 year old and a nearly two year old! 😂
  18. We generally have 15 mins mid morning, 30 mins mid day, and a further 10-15 mins mid afternoon if the weather dictates it. Weather conditions are major deciding factor I think. Clearly if it’s 30 degrees and your slogging your arse off in a Sitka spruce first thinnings job, you take regular breaks for hydration. Equally, a quick stop and jump in the van to heat up when it’s sheeting it down is vital. Everyone wants to get through the day unscathed and be back for the next shift, so sometimes an extra break here and there is perfectly acceptable. Mind you, I’ve had a few lads who seem to have their phone out at every bloody opportunity. They sharp get told what the alternative is.
  19. I’d be bloody keen, if I wasn’t so dam far away!
  20. I must admit I do rather like my Strauss gear. I've got chainsaw trousers and a lightweight jacket, so can't comment on the t-shirts.
  21. I wear the Solidur Infinity Trosuers. They’re very comfy, very hard wearing, and very competitively priced. Only thing is you can only get them in red! But they look smart enough, and I’ve recommended them to many a person. They have massive vents in the back of the legs too. https://www.chrisforestry.co.uk/store/Solidur-Infinity-Type-A-Chainsaw-Trousers-p136826955
  22. Same story here in North Yorkshire. Time to dust the waterproofs off for the week ahead!
  23. Plus they have just released a load of new colours, and offer a print service too for company logos.
  24. I wear the Bear Valley Exo Ranger Tees. Love them, very comfortable and well designed. Have stood up to hand cutting and machine operating thus far with no issues.
  25. I have been mixing tunes for 20 years, mainly just in my bedroom, but have been picking up gigs for the last few years. Also record a new mix every month or so and have a reasonable following on Soundcloud. I played at a festival in West Cumbria called Solfest on the last bank holiday weekend, was mega!
