  1. Haha! No unfortunately not, I'm looking at "sensible" family estate cars. It's just the particular one I'm looking at has 330bhp 🤪
  2. I've got my eyes on an imported car, originally from Japan. Anyone got experience of living with one? Was it hard to insure etc, parts hard to find and so on?
  3. So many things to cringe at 🤦🏼‍♂️😂
  4. Late to the party, but I run Dewalt gear and find it spot on. Have Impact driver, grease gun, angle Grinder and drill. All batteries interchangeable so happy days. Just need to remember to charge them is all! I must admit the Milwaukee (can't spell it!) Is very good quality, if that bit more pricey than Dewalt.

    Big birch

The site I've been busy slaying Ash on for months has some real big bootie Birch scattered around the spot. I'll try and get some snaps. Alas, many have bootie rot also 😢
  6. Same here but I have a 4 year old and a nearly two year old! 😂
  7. We generally have 15 mins mid morning, 30 mins mid day, and a further 10-15 mins mid afternoon if the weather dictates it. Weather conditions are major deciding factor I think. Clearly if it’s 30 degrees and your slogging your arse off in a Sitka spruce first thinnings job, you take regular breaks for hydration. Equally, a quick stop and jump in the van to heat up when it’s sheeting it down is vital. Everyone wants to get through the day unscathed and be back for the next shift, so sometimes an extra break here and there is perfectly acceptable. Mind you, I’ve had a few lads who seem to have their phone out at every bloody opportunity. They sharp get told what the alternative is.
  8. I’d be bloody keen, if I wasn’t so dam far away!
  9. I must admit I do rather like my Strauss gear. I've got chainsaw trousers and a lightweight jacket, so can't comment on the t-shirts.
  10. I wear the Solidur Infinity Trosuers. They’re very comfy, very hard wearing, and very competitively priced. Only thing is you can only get them in red! But they look smart enough, and I’ve recommended them to many a person. They have massive vents in the back of the legs too. https://www.chrisforestry.co.uk/store/Solidur-Infinity-Type-A-Chainsaw-Trousers-p136826955
  11. Same story here in North Yorkshire. Time to dust the waterproofs off for the week ahead!
  12. Plus they have just released a load of new colours, and offer a print service too for company logos.
  13. I wear the Bear Valley Exo Ranger Tees. Love them, very comfortable and well designed. Have stood up to hand cutting and machine operating thus far with no issues.
  14. I have been mixing tunes for 20 years, mainly just in my bedroom, but have been picking up gigs for the last few years. Also record a new mix every month or so and have a reasonable following on Soundcloud. I played at a festival in West Cumbria called Solfest on the last bank holiday weekend, was mega!
  15. Keep some Forestry marker paint in your van. Walk round and apply liberally to all shit left. Their garden will soon look like a shit Banksy 👍🏻
  16. And this is why we love Arbtalk! Brilliant replies folks, I'll sift through everything once I'm back home and have time to inspect the trailer properly. Some of the suggestions are definitely new ones to look for. I'll update progress this coming week.
  17. I'll check with the dealer, see if its still a valid deal. I should add, that's £400 +vat.
  18. I have an Ifor Williams LM186, triple axle behemoth of a trailer. I've had it since new, its two and a half years old and has always been maintained and cleaned and kept in good condition. I took it in for a service at Ripon Trailer Services this year and the mechanic fella commented how well kept it was. However, it has recently started having a rather serious brake issue. All 6 wheels are getting hot, and I do mean hot! I never travel fast, usually doing 40-50mph maximum. Tyre pressures are good. I've been getting some excellent help from Andrew Liverseed of Liverseed Trailers and have checked a few things he suggested. I used a ratchet strap to pull the coupling back in, and it returned as it should. I gave the coupling an extra good greasing too. I've had the trailer in at Paxtons up at Durham. They had it for two days, charged me £120 but were unable to diagnose the problem. Interestingly, it only seems to do it when the trailer is loaded up with the Logbullet. I'm open to suggestions, and beginning to clutch at straws truth be told. I'm flat out busy and need the trailer to work as it should. Since greasing the temperature has dropped a bit, but when I pull up and check the hubs are definitely hot to touch. Fire away oh wise Arbtalk collective!
  19. Quite a majestic mushroom, basking in some sunlight yesterday.
  20. Aspen for me in all my saws, blower etc. Never had a a problem. Like others though, I’m fed up of the 5L drums.I had to take all mine to the recycling point recently….. there was a colossal amount! I was offered the motomix at £400 for 200L, how does that fair up against what other are paying?
  21. Is that an upgrade or will you be employing another driver, to run two? The plan is to get another operator onboard. But it’s going to take time to get it all in place. The opportunity to buy the second one came up and I couldn’t pass it up in reality. These little things never come up for sale, so to have a back up machine that is dam near identical to mine was to good a chance to miss.
  22. There is still a plentiful supply of Devon red mud coming off the dam thing!
