  1. Is there a style that you particularly like? I like the fact they come in grey! Nice and simple.
  2. Boring question but can anyone recommend some chainsaw trousers. Ideally looking for a mid range Type A trouser that will be happy hedge laying and scrambling through scrubby bramble and unmanaged woodland horrors. have made do with entry level trousers from stihl and husky but fancy something with a bit more comfort for everyday wear. happy to spend a bit of cash as long as I can get a fair life expectancy out of them. too much choice on the old inter webs so any advice to narrow the search appreciated.
  3. I wonder if someone can give me some advice based on their own experience. I’m planting 200 trees for a private customer and would prefer not to use a plastic based tree guard as I’ve struggled to recycle old used ones removed from the same site. The planting scheme specification requires a 1.2m guard with a 5 year life span. What’s out there and works well? Thanks for the help.
  4. I had use of a WM126, followed the assembly instructions to the letter and kept popping off blades. The chap from WM came to fault find and simply backed off the blade tension from the prescribed tension in the manual and hey presto she’s a gooden.
  5. I like the savotta stuff. Not cheap but bombproof.
  6. This looks like a handy tool any chance of having some dimensions and your location please. Is this straight out the wall 220v?
  7. The P30 is the top of my wish list but it doesn’t come cheap. the tractor is 1.5ton and the dealer is suggesting the 210kg weight. If the knocker is grounded is it quite stable, does much energy rattle through the tractor?
  8. I was wondering if anyone runs a pto post basher on the back of their alpine tractor? I have been asked by a number of customers if I can install/ replace stock fencing at their properties once the ground dries up a bit and am inclined to take on the work if I can match an implement to my existing tractor. most of the runs are fairly short (+- 200m) and a little fiddly so not well suited to a full size contractor set up. what are people’s experience with the smaller post bashers? Can they stomach strainers and even gate posts? Any recommendations or advice welcome.
  9. This is the sort of post I really like to read. Thought provoking stuff, I’m new to the industry and really like the insight that those with the experience continue to provide! Thank you.
