  6. Doesnt have to be brand new but has to have been looked after, and able to ship to France.
  7. Does anyone know any dealers of the CS100 who have stock and be willing to stick one on a pallet to Brittany? Serious question, I've rang a lot of the dealers in the south of England, waiting on a few responses, but most a lot seem to be un-willing to arrange shipping, I'm not knocking the dealers at all, I know its a somewhat unusual request, Just in a bit of a hurry to get it sorted Thanks

  9. Looking out for a top handle, stumbled across some good reviews for the echo 360tes, did a little price search came across this: Trononneuse lagueuse ECHO CS360 TES 389€ delivered with an extra chain chucked in which at todays rate is around £270 sterling. Being as normally it works out cheaper to buy in the UK and ship it here to France, this has surprised me! The cheapest I can find in the UK is around £370 before shipping. Could it be a fake? I believe the site to be reputable but the price difference seems amazing. Also anyone have anything new to add on this saw? aside from the fuel filler caps being small
  10. Bird, I am in a somewhat similar situation. I started my business in June, and I am still scraping around for work. 1. Get a website- I did mine alone and I know nothing a about computers, put the hours in and learn it yourself. 2. Take your time over advertising, if it looks rubbish its gonna do more harm than good. 3. Think hard about who your are trying to sell to, and trying find similarities between them in order to target your advertising. 4. Make an effort to do something for the business every day, I lay awake at night if i have not made progress that day, even if its something as simple as dropping a few leaflets or updating the webpage. 5. Seek advice and follow it! don't let the negative responses drag you down. I believe my business will work because it HAS to. I have been so lucky with the help I have received from some really generous people, you just have to find someone. Good luck!
  11. I must admit I do not agree with the law on this one. If you are stupid and thoughtless enough to plant a potentially large tree right next to boundary, you should be responsible for it, no matter the situation IMO. The law here in France states something along the lines of, If you plant any tree/hedge within 2 metres of a boundary it is your responsibility to keep it below 2 metres in height and your neighbors can force you to do so. Had this rule been in place England I think the situation could have been avoided.
  12. Ok so what about if had continuously cut the roots since the tree was very young, I.e small pencil sized roots. Obviously the tree would adapt but IMO it would still be likely to blow over if it reached that size.
  13. Personally I would do it as normal, roll the wire out on the inside, take out the slack then just lift it over and tension after. Or have I missed something?

Now then, when you say next year.....
  15. Do i not own the land below ground level? Are the roots not in fact just encroaching onto my land?
  16. They've been barney'd
  17. Is the M500 gravity fed?, if it is i think i would rather the timberwolf 18/100 for that money
  18. Whats does a new CS100 set you back these days? is the trailer worth the expense?
  19. I make a effort to try and do anything remotely risky before lunch-sounds impractical and it is. However if there is the option, do the more risky job in the morning when you are awake and alert, we all make silly decisions when we are tired and want to get home.
  20. Im looking at the new echo top handle, waiting to make the jump till after others have had a test drive
  21. Thanks for your suggestions, the customer wants an impossibility, more light through the windows, without the recurring work that topping it will inevitably bring...
  22. I have been asked to quote for some 'pruning work' The client has pretty large acer of some kind (leaves are off, smooth bark, looks like sycamore to me, has tar spot) it has previously been topped...twice...at different heights Now they want it reducing again to let the light in, they are really fond of the tree so fell and re-plant is not an option. my question is, is it worth me trying to do things by the book and thin and reduce? or is it beyond hope now that the crown is made up of near vertical 3inch diameter poles? If I thin out some of these shoots to the previous topping point, would this result in more epicormic, or would the energy be absorbed by the neighboring branches? Hope this is clear,
  23. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be kosher under the data protection act
