Amazon often do dealer refurbs, which provide great value for money, often they are not even used, just overstock or original box was damaged.
  3. Yet to use the anchor trip in anger, but ive set it up and given it a few tugs and everything works as it should. The 90kgs version is perfect, the adjustability means you can set it so it holds firm under normal circumstances but will release long before you suffer any serious damage, should the worst happen. for the money its really a no-brainer. Ill take a few pics in the next couple of days.
  4. I would have said it was J, just add up to diagonals. I needed a calculator, pen and paper though....
  5. Long day with one of these: Alpine Magnum Portable Stump Grinders and Trenchers
  6. Its the Dunning-Kruger effect
  7. Has no-one worked on a narrow access grinder with 'outriggers', that retract or fold out the way when not needed?
  8. Anyone Importing Logs? Stop feeding foreigners, they took our jobs!
  9. You are doing a dangerous, skilled, job. Often in terrible weather conditions and one which will undoubtedly lead to excess wear and tear on your body. Anyone working for less than £150 is onto a hiding IMO
  10. Undo friction hitches, to check for damage and increase lifespan
  11. I like the revelation that there is roughly 300 logs per M3, I can imagine standing at the splitter counting the logs coming of.....30p...30p...30p, great moral booster!
  12. Do it yourself, it can be a fiddle getting the cassette back in but you get the hang of it.
  13. I thought you sold yours mick?

  17. 1. If you are chipping into a trailer, strap the chute to the back of the trailer, otherwise when you put long pieces into the hopper, it can tip backwards, creating a vertical fountain of chip. 2. Run a bunggee from the top removable section and hook it into the foot stand. Otherwise the top can fly off..........creating a vertical fountain of chip.
  18. Do any of the major manufacturers offer say a 6 inch chipper which is OVER 750kg? I.e no scrimping on build quality for the sake of weight on a small machine?
  19. Company isn't big enough to stand employing anybody full time. Good Subbys are few and far between as being self employed here is a ball ache, and you have to stick to your chosen industry.
  20. I often have to work with inexperienced helpers, The way they stand on the ground and say things like 'just drop that there, flop that over and swing that over the greenhouse' Its all so easy when it isn't you who is going to pay for any damage!
  21. What does it weigh? looks hefty
  22. You've scared off any legitimate answers now!
  23. I need to attach a rope to a sheaved swing cheek pulley, permanently. (Fiddle block system) obviously I could do it with a karabiner or shackle, then a single fishermans. Would a fishermans tied around a thimble be acceptable or would the bottom edges of the thimble 'dig into' the rope too much when under load?
