Don't think you need to be a tight arsed Scotsman to feel like £90 is a lot for someone to look at your kit for an hour, when you bust a gut all day for not much more. -

I also wonder why I bother with Loler checks. I think we all know when something is unsafe. But I also know that I am more likely to push the limits because I want that bit of kit to last a bit longer and not shell out more money. The strange way it works it that if someone else was using the kit and it failed then I would be responsible and I wouldn't want that to happen but I am ok with it happening to myself. So I use a Loler inspector because that way my tendency to push the limits is limited. -

Hiya Been playing about a bit with the wrench (with a 4srt tether on Yale Blue Tongue). From my initial climbs wondering why tethers aren't solid? When taking up slack there is a certain amount of friction in moving the wrench up the rope, and I see that the tether flexes under the strain and increases the effort involved. If the tether was solid this would be minimised?? Also In making the jump from a hitch climber ddrt I'm also aware that when the rope has a clear run the slack tending is effortless compared to with the wrench. Obviously there are times when it's not at all easier and the wrench (read all srt devices) is so consistent, but overall do you think it averages out, sometimes easier sometimes harder? Cheers

12 or 14? Been on a 14 always but now starting to wonder about getting a 12. Loose a bit of weight, more power in the cut etc... Thoughts on a postcard Cheers

I have had a harness used infrequently passed by a loler inspector up to 8 or 9 years old, others would fail if over 5 years since first use. Thus there is some play in the system.... Even if it passes an inspection you need to be confident in your gear.

My loler inspector gave me one post first inspection with all the details on it, just like above. Simples

Yep looks possible. Though The becket on the pinto is rated I think so crab could on that end?
