  1. I'm not arguing facts the fact is a small minority pay most of the income tax so it's not really we but a few of us.(not including me) As for how much he sold for I really don't know the final figure after taxes it was ten years ago so prices were nowhere near today's prices. Yes it was a lot of money but then it was 45 years of graft from him and my grandad( they bought the farm when my dad was 14) and spent 30 years paying for it and came close to losing it more than once. Why do people not like to see people do well in this country?
  2. Do you have the same kind of subsidies in the U.S. for farming? Just wondering not trying to argue as I have no idea
  3. The poorest in the country don't pay tax(income tax anyway) big business and billionaires pay most of it!! https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/income-tax-liabilities-statistics-tax-year-2012-to-2013-to-tax-year-2015-to-2016
  4. I see that but how do you propose giving the backing to the small farmers(sub 500 acres) they would simply go out of business without them. The big landowners may simply give up and let the countryside go to ruin as they will not want to farm(produce) without the subsidies. And what about the general public do you think they want to pay the true price of the food they eat? I for 1 don't think they would like to pay full price. To look at it another way if the price of food was to double(or more) how would the poorest in the country cope?
  5. Yes mate that's right my dad has sold 300 or so acres and has 200 left. The subsides don't go far I do know that. How tenant farmers manage I don't know
  6. I don't know the figures but they are not small the £28000 the people are talking about aren't making them rich I do know that much. Point I'm making is if the farmers did not have the subsides the cost of food would shoot up miles. Benefit street would really need their benefits then!!!
  7. Do you know how much it costs the farmers to start work every morning?
  8. I lease for all of the above reasons! No headaches with truck breaking down! I find that having a new vehicle enables me to charge more as well as you look a lot more professional! I've just ordered a new Nissan navara and to be fair I could have picked a cheaper pick up, as a leather seat l200 double cab was about 10 grand cheaper, however I don't drink and smoke anymore and I want to spend that money on something nice for me! It's true you get stiffed a bit on handing the keys back but you can also benefit from the low price as you are buying at a pool car price. It depends how much you want to spend as well at the end of the day, I like having a reliable and smart truck and I'm willing to pay for it!
  9. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
  10. Would you prefer communism? If you do move to China (I used to live there and if you think there is poverty here you should look at poverty over there!!)or North Korea and see how well it works out for you!!
  11. My work tools (mowers etc) that I use when I get where I'm going.
  12. I'm using an l200 with 3 tonne plated trailer and as far as I'm aware I don't need any taco or operating licence?
  13. I think you want more than 4 to help with the Google ranking system. From what I understand it wants to see plenty of decent, original information to rank you better. But 10 decent pages is better than 100 bad pages. Not really sure this is what the guy doing mine said. Hopefully finished soon!
  14. that's too far too young. a good enough reason to make people think again. Goes to show we all need to be careful.
  15. The gx engine is a commercial engine so will last longer and be more reliable the the gc
  16. Sounds like the carb needs adjusting to me. I'd take it to local lawnmower repair place they should have it up and running in no time
  17. I would want it dry but just wanted to know if what was stated was wet or dry weight! Reason I ask as well is where I buy sand / soil / aggregate it's all loose and stored outside so it's dry if it's dry and not if its not so to speak. I've never really paid that much attention to the weight as I just ask for a trailer full and then pay what they ask for!
  18. Is that dry or wet for the course sand?
  19. That's the big problem I see with hydro mowers great when working expensive if they break. I've been lucky with my Honda mowers no problems at all except someone nicked the dead mans handle off one last week!!
  20. You may be able to get the hydro pump mended by a specialist but it will be an expensive job:( What mower is it from a ride on or a walk behind? And how much is the new pump? I've got a huge toro ride on (7ftcut) and that's my biggest worry(having the main pump go) as they are a grand!!!
  21. There is the waste to power station they may take it not sure worth asking
