  1. Lindum in saxilby just of A57 not cheap though
  2. The very low vibration stihl brushcutters are the very expensive ones. The ones typically used by the council are the ones fs400 or equivalent. Will cost about £900- £1000.
  3. Hi thanks all The budget is more in my head than anything else as I do have money left in the tools budget so I would rather buy something better and pay more. I would like it to last as long as possible really but it will only come out maybe 12-15 times a year so not much use really. I had a quick look at the echo saws and they seem to have good warranty on them. 16 inch bar is the maximum I would use as I don't go near big trees. It's really for logs, small takedowns and small wind blown trees.
  4. Hi I'm looking to get a new saw slightly bigger than the ms170 I have. Only for occasional use. Any recommendations would be appreciated I have thought about a Stihl Ms 180 but interested In other ideas. Want to spend around £200 but can stretch the budget for the right saw. Many thanks
  5. Thanks all I suppose the next question is where I get one from? If it will take the strain off my shoulder it will be brilliant, I was just tiding up a privet hedge today small and low and even that made my shoulder ache, so I think I need something to take the strain as I have lots of big hedges that I do in the autumn. I will search for these other threads Many thanks Richard
  6. Hi has anyone used the easy lift harness I'm thinking about getting one as I have a bad shoulder and I'm wondering if it will be helpful for hedge work. Any views would be great thanks.
  7. I would hate to strim all day long
  8. I don't think I've ever read such a pile of c***. You should be ashamed of yourself. Corruption is holding most of these people back.
  9. It would also depend how thick it was and how wet it is but you could strim hundreds of sq m in a day with fs400
  10. Over how many years? I've no idea what any of the nations "owe" of the debt. Maybe we should have a referendum to see if we want the scots to stay?
  11. As I said I do believe in the safety net. It may be that my view is simplistic in fact I know it is. I do struggle when things aren't black and white yes or no so to speak. I do think that many people who are disabled (in some forms) can still work in some capacity. My mums boss for example was blind. I was brought up to work hard and reap the rewards 30 years down the line not next week if that makes sense?
  12. Why do you resent the people like me who want to make their own way in life?
  13. Have you tried upping the revs on the idle screw? That should make it go quicker. Carb may need a clean if it's been sat. It may be junked up from stale fuel
  14. It's not about insurance for me it's about not wanting money back off the state. I want to and do provide for myself and my family. I'm happy enough to pay my taxes and ni etc. I believe in the safety net. But I don't believe that you should rely on it for too long. It's about what can I do not what can't I do. Work is out there if you want it enough. it's about no being beholden (government )to someone else to provide for me.
  15. I agree on the Europe thing but I do think we should have the choice via referendum as a country. Then live with the outcome whatever it may be.
  16. Exactly 👍 couldn't have said it better my self
  17. I've got 3 old atco mowers like those. A 17 inch a24 and a 30 inch. Only got the 24 working at the minute but it's a hell of a machine eats it's way through whatever you put in front of it. The big one would be worth about £150-200 even not working and the other about £100 I should imagine. Don't scrap them though with some care they will cut for another 40 years!!
  18. I wonder if the waste to energy furnace would take it? Just a thought. It's on whisby road just off the a46
  19. There is some videos on YouTube of them clearing snow look really good!
  20. What's My mindset? It's that I should look after myself and not rely on the state to feed and cloth and house me!! The state does not owe me a living! I pay my taxes and get support of the police, nhs etc. I want the government to leave me alone because whatever party is in power makes no difference as none of them keep the promises that they made. I can't fix the problems of society, I can only try and help friends and family.
  21. I don't doubt what your saying. And I agree that greed causes arguments, I just don't understand why people worry about it so much.
  22. Did you realise we have only just recently paid off WW1 debts? The point I'm making I think is it makes no difference to me how much money anyone else has I need to look after my family that's all. Everything else does not really matter. If you can house, clothe and feed yourself and family you are not poor. I spent 2 years traveling in South East Asia. That opens your eyes to what poor is. Life is too short to worry about how much someone you don't know has in my opinion.
