  5. Good video. Bit confused with your ppe choices ...chainsaw helmet for the grinder and goggles for the test drive?? Maybe there were millions of midges on the test track!
  6. Get an old dung grap, weld on pins for 3rd pint linkage and use a hydraulic top link to tip.you will need 2 double acting spools on your tractor.
  7. Usual question depends on bag size,I generally put 2.3 cubic metres in a load so about 2.5 cube bags ...but if you go for those silly wee bags you would get a lot more:thumbup:
  8. The road was recently re surfaced and has beeno eaten by horses over the years, the crown is in serious decline ,how long till this becomes dangerous? (The client is about to build a house under it!)
  9. Was felling beech trees at roadside today, this was one one of the trees that were to be retained! When I looked at the job a month ago this fungus wasn't there, how fast do they grow?.
  10. Getting more expensive too.mm.not even a good copy
  11. I had that problem with mine and it turned out that the main spool valve needed resetting.you need to take vive out, dismantle and look for a spring and cap.when machine is overworked in knotty wood ,the cap moves up the spring thus limiting travel on spool valve,2 hours to strip valve out 10 min to reset.Rio denied that this was the problem but what do they know!
  12. Bah humbug
  13. Don't do it,save loads of cash, avoid queues,no food poisoning, keep away from those terrorist's, and get some quality climbing done while everyone else is away.make a climbing wall out of a tree and let the kids play.

  18. thats no good for you...perfect for me though!!,get it bought:thumbup:
  19. Clark forest do an automatic one,not that cheap though
  20. Yes if time isn't an issue a bit of root pruning 2 years before the move will help a lot .and waiting for the winter will help loads too.trying to move a tree at this time of year R is risky, without the proper kit
  21. The shear bolt protects the implement not the tractor.it is designed to protect from sudden impact loads, not torque, which is better Co trolled by a slip clutch.hitting a tree stump will give you an impact load and a shear bolt will break.long rushes will give an l creased power consumption, and hence a slip clutch will protect machine better.it is important to use a shaft which is designed for you implement.most machines have belts which both take the impact and slip when over torqued.it's all down to machine design, see your handbook!
  22. Just had a call from a regular client who wants 2 big beeches felled.the trees are badly diseased and are in rapid decline.the local council has stipulated that a bat survey must be carried out and if given the all clear the trees Must be felled within 48 hours.is this normal?as not come across this before. There are no signs of bats in these trees or indeed neighbouring trees. Thanks lads
