    Lock Down?

War, famine, pestilence....... business as usual.

    Lock Down?

I’m kind of somewhere in the middle between panic and complacency.. I’m responsible for the well being of 24 guys in a recovery community, some of whom have weak immune systems. We’ve had to put some pretty stringent measures in place to try and keep everyone as safe as possible, while trying to maintain some kind of normality. We don’t live ‘in fear’ but we have a healthy ‘respect’ for the seriousness of the situation. A distant relative of my wife has already died from it in the US. He was 34 and apparently in good health. That brought it home a bit...
  3. 1. Apocalypse Now. 2. Bourne (all of them) 3. Layer cake.
  4. Yer.... very efficiently and decisively executed. It really does seem that while there is ‘absolutely no room for any form of racism’ in the Labour Party, there are different forms of ‘no room’ and some of those ‘no rooms’ are a little bit more spacious than others.
  5. Forcing the industry to use 2rope working to reduce falls from height is a bit like having to use a breeze block as a key ring to stop you losing your keys. Yes, it will have the desired effect statistically and on paper. But at what cost in terms of practicality, ergonomics, hindered movement, increased effort and added strain and stress. Etc...
  6. I’ve had them that bad that they won’t even sit in the rails. It’s one of of my pet hates. Good tip though. [emoji106]
  7. I always tighten up the chain a little extra when working in conifer hedges. A derailed chain causes lots of hassle and damaged drive links really cause wear on the inside of the bar, even after they have been filed back.
  8. I’ll be finding out first hand this year... after an 8 year battle I finally got my US Visa approved ! (Past misdeeds meant I am ineligible for a normal visa. and I didn’t want to lie on the ESTA ) Me and my American mrs are going on a 6 week road trip... [emoji41][emoji41] Can’t wait. Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and back to Iowa. My in-laws are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Most Americans I have met have been sound.
  9. My anti-porn software stopped me looking up latex tube on my work phone [emoji51]

  11. There was a recent-ish thread where the OP posted a link straight to the manufacturer of shrink tube but I can’t find it.
  12. Buxtons’s do a kit with assorted sizes of shrink tube
  13. Stein RC 3001 here, good solid and simple to use and get ussd to. Couldn’t get on with a portawrap, I’ve never met a groundie that liked using them,
  14. I think there is more to this possible failure than is being disclosed.
  15. Was it the link, or the spring that failed? This alert gives no real information. Compare it with the DMM caribiner recall a few years ago. That had specific information and a definite course of action recommended by the manufacturer.
  16. Reminds me of this, only the one on This morning actually has the personality and attributes of a progressive millennial..... truly frightening...
  17. I can’t find anything about this on the Petzl website or on the HSE website recent safety bulletins. (?!) Mine are working fine!
  18. Yikes! Hopefully it will be a one off

    Wilder Fury 2

I like the way Fury can adapt and change his style to suit the situation, he’s the ultimate boxing ‘chameleon’. The way he cuts and sections the ring off with his footwork for such a big guy is incredible to watch. Every aspect of his craft has something to be admired, including his ability to play ‘head-games’ with his opponent. Can’t wait for his next fight.
  20. Another ‘classic’ from Brussels..., All ride-on lawnmowers will now need motor insurance.
  21. Fantastic news Steve! Congratulations!..
  22. I thought Lidl would have started selling Orimulsion by now.....

    Wilder Fury 2

Looking forward to Fury v Joshua now. Fury looked almost fresh enough to go straight in with him.
  24. Definitely the first time anything worth watching has been filmed there.... Nice work Don.
