  1. “Details, details. Things to do, things to get done.... don’t bother me with details, just tell me when there done! , who said that, son?” “Er, Winston Churchill?” ‘No, I did, “
  2. Thanks for this Paul. Very clever edit. I grew up a Punk, so Genesis and most prog-rock was an anathema to me back then.... haven’t really listened to much of them. My journey went from Punk to indie to psychedelic to blues to dance/rave then on to jazz funk and gospel. Bit of an odd journey that skipped most mainstream stuff. Here’s an interesting curiosity I came across recently......
  3. In the case of a hand injury, where the injured hand couldn’t be used, it would be very difficult to cut a rope one handed with a silky unless it was under tension. Introducing scenarios where the necessity to cut ropes in a self rescue becomes more common (due to the hindrance of an extra system) can’t be a good thing. The risk of an already injured climber having a serious fall would increase.
  4. That’s s handy link,Dan.. thanks for sharing. [emoji106]
  5. Can you get it in ‘clear’? handy for ID’ing when it comes to LOLER
  6. Can’t get over this..., blows me away every time I watch/listen to it.
  7. I say ‘Rogue’ simply because the terms of the referendum were spelt out by Cameron so clearly that even a complete imbecile could understand. (Of course, most of us now realise to our chagrin, that he only did that thinking that ‘we’ would blindly vote to stay IN forever.) Everyone in Parliament promised to respect the outcome of the vote (provided we voted to remain). So they completely betrayed the electorate and are now ‘governing’ at complete odds with the majority. I’d call that a Rogue government. In hindsight, I feel like an imbecile for having believed them in the first place.
  8. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind waiting a little while longer if I thought it meant we truly freed ourselves from the EU. All this talk of ‘a deal’ is rubbish. They’re not going to give us one and anyway, why should they dictate the terms? We decided to leave, so we should. There should be no more negotiating until the playing field has been levelled. It’s proven impossible to resolve the important issues while we’re still ’in’ and while we are stymied by a rogue Parliament. Sadly, that seems like the only way we will be able to establish sensible and non punitive solutions to trade, finance, tax, fishing rights, intelligence sharing, defence, immigration etc..
  9. Suttcliffe the musical.... was hilarious (banned though). Even got John McCrirrick duped.

  11. They’ll probably find a way of making a law that prevents us from holding them to account. Trying to get decent laws passed in Parliament is nigh on impossible, yet Hilary Benn’s surrender act got pushed through in record time, no scrutiny, no nothing.... Whole thing is one giant stitch up....
  12. Brass eye was genius level comedy.
  13. Maybe, Mull, time will tell. It’s a pity as Britain could potentially become another Singapore-like free market powerhouse if only we could unshackle ourselves from the EU’s Cable-Tow. Maybe that’s why the Eurocrats are so opposed to it, which is understandable. What’s really frustrating is that our Parliament is such a long way from representing the electorate and the referendum result, after we were finally given the choice.
  14. Whatever happens, there will be quite a few P45’s handed to remainers at the next General Election. We have to have a GE at some point and there are a heck of a lot of people who feel cheated right now. Another extension will only serve to further intensify public feeling against parliament and none of this is helping the Remain cause when it comes to changing people’s mind in favour of the EU membership, At some point Parliament will get their comeuppance.
  15. Love your sense of adventure and willingness to push what is possible. Looking forward to seeing this job documented on here. Hope it works out well for you Big J.
  16. JC, in my opinion, is playing it very canny. I think he puts these events on knowing full well that his real supporters are inwardly cheering at the thinly veiled anti Semitic undertones, the naive take it at ‘face’ value, not understanding, or not wanting to believe it. and he also, more to the point, takes great pleasure in sticking two fingers up to those who understand who the real Jeremy Corbyn is and what he really stands for. I do believe, however, like all anti-semites he will eventually ‘swing from gallows of his own making’.
  17. It could well be that they have a master stroke to play and they don’t want to forewarn those who are hell bent on frustrating the democratic majority vote. ... (That they all initially promised to uphold) Just because Bercow and his treacherous shyster mates have been able to manipulate the process to compel Boris to go and ‘humbly beg’ Europe like some kind of masochistic gimp for an extension to this misery, doesn’t necessarily mean he will be ‘successful’. Maybe Liz is more enlightened than she’s letting on.
  18. Jezza excels himself once again with this charming jest-ure of goodwill. Maybe, in his defence, Diane Abbott organised the guest list and he didn’t realise. Or maybe not.... Corbyn sparks controversy for Rosh Hashanah video featuring Hamas supporter - JNS.org WWW.JNS.ORG It features Rob Abrams, a Jewish anti-Zionist activist who in May 2018 led the Kaddish prayer in Parliament Square for 62 Palestinians killed on the Israel-Gaza border, at least 50 of whom were Hamas operatives.

  21. It’s that herding mentality. I’ve experienced the car park thing and the pub thing. I wasn’t up to anything dodgy in the empty car park, when someone parked right next to me.....honest!
