  1. Common service tool, it’s just a program that allows Husqvarna machines to be connected to a computer.
  2. Non auto tune for markets that do not/cannot use CST
  3. Actually the rev boost was only on the pre production machine but was not on production machines, the power of advertising.
  4. Ever since I can remember there has always been a semi pro version of a model, the Xp denomination ( extra power ) came along with the 154/254, 266 etc, there is an amount of sales patter regarding this, however some people do not need that little bit more power, so a lower rpm saw suits them, a little more forgiving with blunt chains and lower maintenance, the 545 is a nice saw, different software and no crank stuffers, not so manic as a 550, but with some of the 550 benefits, I was never impressed with the silver crankcase, but a survey said it looked more aggressive, not too sure about that.
  5. did i miss something, i thought he had fitted a new cylinder and piston all be it after market, it is either a crap cylinder, or he broke the ring on rebuilding.
  6. Correct it is just a limiter, it looks fine to me, it doesn’t really wear as such it just becomes a little squashed, it’s just a hard sponge material, only worry when it disappears.
  7. Carry on.
  8. Bugger I thought we had a live one.
  9. You need to see the K1 Pace, it makes the Milwaukee look like a tank.
  10. Are you planning to run 3/8 chain?
  11. The face of the chain brake cover is going to be too small to hold the wider bar, the 455 crankcase is composite so if you try over tightening you will distort the bar pad, I think this could all go terribly wrong.
  12. Fuel down the inlet I would expect it to fire, the 266 has a steel woodruff key, but can still shear, so flywheel off and check, a crank seal completely fallen out? The new cylinder did it have the correct orientation to the induction block? I only ask as the 61 and 268 were the opposite way round, was the cylinder open or closed transfer port?
  13. Wait till you see the 12” version later this year the K1 Pace
  14. The Husqvarna K770 is available in 12 and 14” both are available with oil guard, the oil guard system is an optical eye that looks at the colour and depth of colour of the oil entering the carb, oil guard oil is a deep golden brown, if this is not present the machine goes into limp mode, so no chance of it ever seizing due to lack of oil. The machine itself has a large paper air filter and compensator carb, it has a long life fuel filter, and sealed starter spring, the starter has a blue rope which out lasts normal nylon rope, the cylinder is nickasil coated with closed transfer ports with Husqvarna Xtorq. The Stilh machine is akin to a top handle design which is not really the best working position. Husqvarna uses three springs for the anti vibration, the Stihl has a plastic starter pawl and is secured on the dirty side of the machine, they do not last very long in use. You may guess I would buy the Husqvarna all day long, check Red Band on line for a price.
  15. Other than the lack of power issue, the oil pump, bar pad, clutch and av system is not adequate for that length of bar, you need to forget about doing this, if you need a longer bar you need a bigger saw.
  16. Yes that is the early pump, the later pump may help to seal better, however most leakage is usually between the crankcase and pick up pipe, as much as you may not want to use instant gasket, it may be the only way to seal it, or just put up with it, a favourite line was always it’s a constant loss oil system, and there are many places for excess oil to get trapped and drip, once used the saw dust will dry it up, got to love the Swedes.
  17. Should also say there is a later pump, rather than having just a hole either side of the pump body, the later pump has a short aluminium extension either side to better locate into the pickup/delivery hose.
  18. She sure is, all good stuff.
  19. Very common on early Husqvarnas, you can try a.new pickup/delivery hose, if no better some instant gasket around the hose to crankcase area, you could always tell where a Husqvarna had been sat overnight.
  20. More into Emerdale at the minute, murders galore.
  21. It may not be so easy to adjust the carb as they will have anti tamper screws, there are two different types dependent on age, one type will be a spring loaded plate with a spline on the screw head, the other is an aluminium cover, this is not so easy as it needs to be removed to access the screw underneath, this is best left to somebody with a little more knowledge of this carb. If the machine has done a fair amount of work I would be more inclined to say the metering diagram had gone hard and lost convolution.

    Jokes???

She’s just lost and he is pushing her in the right direction.
  23. Sorry I do not know the dealers in Edinburgh area, just Google Husqvarna dealers in Scotland there is a dealer locator on there.
  24. It is running too lean on the H screw, check the fuel filter in the tank for blockage, check the fuel hoses for signs of leaking, if all seems ok then a small turn out on the H screw, unfortunately you need a special tool as they are anti tamper screws.
  25. Give me a T540 any day, at least the muffler doesn't fall to bits, and whoever designed the throttle rod system wants shooting, each one to his own.
