  1. If it’s that old it will have the oval inlet flange, so it’s going to need the later inlet boot and clip whatever happens, the open transfer port cylinders do not hone well.
  2. Sorry, it refers to read the manual, from 2018 the Husqvarna manuals have all said the saw is fine with ethanol up to 10%.
  3. R.T.F.M!
  4. How do you suggest we police this? we have tried with top handle saws, but we see them on ebay and internet sites being sold to anybody every day, we can walk into B&Q today and purchase a chainsaw more than capable of causing serious injury, I completely take your point, but it not easy to control this.
  5. Your entitled to your opinion.
  6. Never been accused of exposing myself before, I will add it to my cv,I am sure the factory will find it amusing.
  7. Never seen any bench grinders that are any good, people try to remove too much material and harden the cutters making them brittle and lose there edge in no time, re shaping the grinding wheel never gets done, all they do is ruin chains, good set of files and a roller guide is what you need.
  8. My best guess is the clutch is slipping, if the engine is still racing and the chain is stopped then the clutch is slipping, should have waited for the Husqvarna 592xp.
  9. You mind he doesn't try and sell you a hundred gallons of Aspen fuel.
  10. Warranty is a fault in materials or manufacture, it is not miss use, abuse, lack of service or fair wear and tear, I feel we are being a little unfair not having seen the state of the machine, so let’s just reserve judgment until some pictures are posted, do we know what two stroke oil is being used or the age of the fuel, do we know if the air inlets in the starter were clear, dare I say the condition of the chain, not all cases are that clear. This maybe a bearing failure, however the cages are a composite material and rarely destroy the cylinder and piston, unfortunately everybody thinks a failure for what ever reason is warranty, some of the comments given about the failure do not make a great deal of sense. I have been dealing with warranty for many years and see good and bad. Who has the saw now? have they told you they are making a claim?
  11. What has happened to the saw?
  12. I think you are barking up the wrong tree with this.
  13. Sounds like fuel to me not the coil, if it was running ok before you put it away there should be no need to alter the screws for now, i would drain the fuel even thought its Aspen ( it does not last forever ) and refill with fresh, if no better, new fuel filter in the tank, check all the hoses for leakage, then carb apart and good clean, there will be check valves so be carful with high pressure through jets , make sure the metering lever is free to move and the inlet needle is free in the carb body.
  14. When a plug is whiskered the machine will not start, this is a heat related issue in my humble opinion, hence ignition issue.
  15. If you haven’t already, change the spark plug, if no better then unfortunately it is the ignition coil, many of the these engines also have an electronic tablet connected to the coil, check the connection, or this may be the faulty component.

    Jokes???

Went to get on a bus today the little Indian driver said i am jam packed full, I said I don’t care what your bloody name is I just want to get on the bus,
  18. Yes it is an A77, which is an A65 with the 80cc cylinder, hence the angle of the spark plug, The A version was the earlier saw before the later L, differences were the starter with grid riveted on, the muffler had a flange on the back and was retained with short studs and nuts, they very often had a Bing carb, there are a few other differences but I do not want to boar you all to death.
  19. As usual you are correct, all I badly tried to say was there is an engagement issue, which is probably to do with the hang guard, I forgot to ask if the brake band was not broken, they have a habit of breaking where they loop around the knee link joint, sorry for the confusion, old age does not come alone.
  20. It sounds like the quadrant in the hand guard is worn, it is not sitting into the chainbrake fully causing it to jump out which in turn pushes the cover out.
  21. I thought sure he was going to say he stripped and rebuilt it, and it ran sweet when he had finished.
  22. Yes I remember, the wire did not work, the bloody ends kept pulling out, hence the webbing solution.
  23. They played with the limiter, the early one was a wire, the later one was /is a webbing strap, the early fuel tank does not have the fixixing hole on the l/h side of the saw, one end fits under a starter cover screw the other with a screw to the tank.
  24. There is only one tank, the new tank will come with a new shaped cover for the wireing, it's not easy first time round, there shoul also be the fixing hole for the limiter wire on the new tank.

    Chain oil

As an operator you can see the issues, so just imagine the problems service people who have to work on saws covered in this smelly chewing gum substance before we can service/repair the machine, pretty unpleasant.
