  8. Hi all, I am looking for the cylinder base spacer on the Jonsered 2094/2095 part no. 503816401, they are no longer available, just though somebody may have a scrap saw sitting somewhere.
  9. This is amazing, in the course of twenty or so post we have gone from clean and tidy and runs well, to the bloody things don’t run and are completely knackered, priceless.
  10. There are levers the other side and springs, it was quick and easy to knock the levers off , the springs then push the jaws apart, move the chain round and re clamp.
  11. Maybe the drum bearing is dry and tight on the crank, this will try to turn the drum at idle causing heat to build up, or clutch spring broken or weak again trying to turn the drum at idle.
  12. That is not going to last 5 minutes, all the rollers will be blue and probably square, if it goes it may well damage the chain to boot.
  13. We used to have a local engineer that did spark eroding, really clever system, which ever way you go you will need to remove the cylinder otherwise this could go terribly wrong, once off centre your done.
  14. 522521101 is the tool, it should be supplied with the saw, not the bigger tool.

I understand the car gearbox but I do not just keep putting oil in unless it’s leaking, yes come the time I drain it and replace with fresh, what I do not understand is where has the grease gone from the gearbox, Husqvarna brush cutter and hedge trimmer gearbox’s should be half to three quarters full, the reason for this is filling the gearbox completely creates pressure in the box and will eventually force it up the drive tube, or out to the blades, we did a lot of testing on over filling gearboxes with grease, some of the issues we found was increased loading and heat build up, if the grease is not leaking out why do you need to keep pumping more in?
  16. Why do you need to keep pumping grease into the gearbox? it must force out all over the place including up the drive shaft, between the blades creating extra loading, loading the gearbox etc

I wonder how long before we have the” what are we going to do with all these duff used lithium batteries thread” dump them into space along with all the other crap floating about up there, or dump them in the sea with all the crap we have already dumped there, before long we will be knee deep in these batteries and no idea what to do with them, plus we are just waiting for a motorway pile up with a few EV vehicles and just sit back and wait for them to burn for a couple of days, to mention nothing of the weight of these things on our roads that are falling apart already, it will be a long time before I say goodbye to my VW Tiguan diesel.
  18. Other things to think about here with using longer bars are, can the anti vib system take it, can the oiling system cope with it, can the clutch cope with it, as well as any the power issues.

    It’s something you have to learn yourself, I cannot give a good explanation it’s just knowing how much to open the ring usually with your thumbs or thumb nails over the top of the piston, if you are breaking them you are opening them too far, it’s just enough to get it over the piston.

    On the few Stihls I have worked on this is pretty common, I guess it is wear in the clamp jaws on top of the tank, probably a new tank to completely cure it, or some type of home mod, a small bracket over the top, or maybe a small tie strap to close the jaws up a bit.

You cannot use sand paper sir, you need emery cloth and plenty of oil, just use your finger with the emery cloth, use a fine emery cloth and work on the ares that has the aluminium transfer, cross hatching I guess Spud is referring too is going around the complete bore in a random motion this will help remove any glaze and leave a cross hatch finish.

    No fan of Stihl, however I guess it would be the same as the Husqvarna machines, so the screw holes in the ignition unit will be slotted, turn the flywheel so the unit is away from the flywheel magnets, slacken the units fixing screws, use a suitable gauge, probably a feeler gauge set at 0.3mm, place it between the ignition unit core, now turn the flywheel so the gauge is sandwiched between the unit and the flywheel magnets, then just tighten the screws, done.
  23. You are correct it is just a nice fit on the crank and I’d driven by the drum, the reason for this is to give zero oiling at idle, so only oiling when the chain is moving.

    Very good point, the auto tune unit needs power to function, this comes from the flywheel magnets and the wiring as was said.
