  1. With Husqvarna the owner registers the saw, however when saws are dispatched the bar code it taken , so the system registers the dealer the saw was supplied too, I think your data base is excellent and can only be a good thing, and it’s free as well we just need owners to spend a few minutes to enter their equipment, unfortunately it’s too late once it’s been stolen.

    A little advice

450 and 455 are both so called clamshell design, these are semi pro saws, if you want a spit crankcase design it will have to be a more pro saw, which is going to be auto tune, 545 is a nice saw or 555 if you want bigger, there is nothing wrong with auto tune we are into the fourth generation now so I hear virtually no issues with it.
  3. Just a note Steve, any Husqvarna auto tune saw can have the owners name and address entered into the unit itself, so even if the ser no. is removed it will always remain with the saw, in an ideal world the selling dealer would do this at point of sale, but as you are finding out there seems little will to do this.
  4. Sorted well done.
  5. Just a word of advise, do not fit a non original unit, and make sure you get the correct unit for it, there are more than one, to make sure you need to remove the flywheel, on the underside will be a part number, go to a parts list that shows the part number and use the unit from that list.
  6. I am not convinced about an air leak, these machines eat ignition units, I have fitted plenty, I would just pull the whole thing apart as it does not take long, change the small sealing strips between cylinder and crankcase, belt and braces use some instant gasket as well, a couple of crank seals and rebuild, it’s pointless just messing about as you are not getting anywhere, they have a governed ignition so do sound funny at full revs and are not easy to get right, you cannot taco them at full revs because the ignition governor upsets the taco.
  7. Can we just go back what is actually wrong with the running of this saw? Are we just talking about the idle speed? Just to clarify.
  8. Whenever I have any issues with the 135/140/435 ( all the same platform ) I have stripped them right down, so it easy with the cylinder removed, no need to put anything between the cylinder and induction block when fitting.
  9. Just think how good you will feel when she runs well, and all your own work, on a slightly negative note it may be a real shit to fit without lifting the cylinder.
  10. The induction tube is item 4 in the list 504201201, it is a small assembly where the rubber is molded to the alloy frame,it also incorporates the impulse pipe, it needs to seal onto the inlet side of the cylinder, if the face is deformed in any way it will not seal properly or will impede the impulse. Dont give up its all a learning curve.
  11. Mark 1
  12. Attached.
  13. I would guess the kit should fit both machines.
  14. Pm me with your address.
  15. I recon the Husqvarna g clamp style tool will push that out no problem, i can loan you one if you want to try it.
  16. So i can confirm the part no.s is 501894103, they are readily available, Husqvarna dealers can order them, unfortunately the retail price is £100.43 plus vat
  17. I think somebody was pulling your chain, I fitted one last week in a K1260 rail, I will check for sure tomorrow.
  18. 501894103
  19. Pictures of both serial no./ rating Plates please.
  20. Pretty sure you can still get a genuine 3120 piston, the only difference was to the cylinder was the exhaust bolts, the early one was a squared headed bolt that hooked into the cylinder, the later one was an m6 screw into the cylinder, the piston always remained the same, it was still used in the K1260 not so long ago before the K1270 mk1, and finally the K1270 mk11, I can check availability if you wish.
  21. What sort of issues?
  22. Husqvarna still produce many of the old models in factories around the world under licence, many 300 series saws and even some 2 series, the Uk has always done the right thing and not brought in higher emissions machines.
  23. Sorry got mixed up with the original 350 post,
  24. This sounds more like vapour lock, are you using old stored fuel? is the saw exceeding its max rpm, should be 12500, is the winter flap open in the top cover? are all the air vents in the starter cover clear? try buying fuel from else wear, is it a later saw with a fuel purge bulb? if yes work the bulb to pull cooler fuel through the carb. 0
