  1. Oh yeah of little faith, have to rush the Archers are on the radio in a minute
  2. It sounds like the fan on the end of the motor touching the outer cover or the conduit holding the motor wiring, could be a twig in there
  3. Well done sir, the 10mm spark plug helicoil is not easy to get fitted correctly.
  4. The dealer doesn’t have a clue, deco valve 503715301, rubber boot 537180001, clip 537320901.
  5. The only sure way is to replace the crankcase.
  6. Fuel starvation would be my guess, so still has blockage in the carb, split inlet boot/ impulse tube, fuel filter in the tank blocked, low cylinder compression .
  7. Stubby is absolutely correct, the manual deco valve will fit in place of the valve in the cylinder, you then blank off the nipple from the bottom of the cylinder, either a rubber boot or use a self tapping screw and sealant.
  8. I still cannot get my head round why when primed with fuel down the inlet it does not as least fire once, unless it actually did?
  9. I get duff information every day of the week. Ive been using these machines for years, and my father before me I mix all the fuel myself I buy the best oil money can buy I have twenty other machines running on the same fuel i read the operators manual every night before going to bed It must be a Friday night machine I know my rights etc etc.
  10. I was going by the new cylinder Steve ( even if it is a Chinese copy ) I would expect at least a pop from it, anyway let’s see what we find when it’s in bits, and why did the original piston seize ? Like to get my hands on it, 5 minutes to do a pressure/ vac test before the cylinder is lifted.
  11. That machine should at least fire with some fuel down the inlet, if you are not getting primary compression in the crankcase the fuel will not be sent up the transfer ports so no fuel to the plug, I still think we have a large air leak and possible main bearing issue.
  12. No.
  13. Just be aware that your after market kill wire has no insulation on the terminal and is connected to the earth cut out on the ignition unit, there is a chance of tracking out with all that crap sitting in there.
  14. That sounds like the blue governed ignition unit, I think it should work, so if you have a good spark and the flywheel key is not sheared ( checked the key ) and fuel is dribbled through the inlet, and it still does not even fire, then I would be looking for a large air leak, possibly flywheel side crank seal, or it has blown part of the base gasket out,
  15. Watch the length of the insert, if too long it will protrude into the cylinder, you would then have to wind it all the way through and start again.
  16. The 555 has a 10mm x 1.0 thread, I have Heli coiled a few, the others comments are correct its all about drilling and tapping absolutely square and a decent coil kit, I hate the cheap kits they are not very good.
  17. Apologies Stubby there were grey cover clips, another senior moment.
  18. Thanks Stubby, but you lost me a bit, the 365 has always had the same bottom end as the 372, correct me if I’m wrong but I just can’t ever remember the 365 having grey cover clips. There also was a 362 ,which had the small bar pad. The first 365 had different shaped inlet and boot, this was changed to the same as the 372 when the special came along, other than that it was just a marketing thing, I can remember sales putting Special stickers on the 50 and watched sales increase.
  19. The concave piston is to further reduce heat, however it also has has a different profile piston ring for better sealing to the cylinder, plus different firmware, there should be no noticeable power loss, so no need to be looking ate that German thing!
  20. Be careful with the firmware, the latest 560/562 has a different carb and low compression piston, for this reason there is different firmware for these later models.
  21. Same firmware on both 560 and 562.
  22. Just remember the mk 1 and mk 11 pump drive gears are different, as is the sprocket.
  23. I was not aware of a Husqvarna in the UK with the Honda engine?
  24. I hate to be a kill joy but increased chain speed will start to require class 2/3 trousers, just saying not looking for an argument.
