  1. The 550/560 have always been built in Sweden, who said they were not?
  2. Yes where has he gone, causes shit and buggers off.
  3. Yes it’s a purge not a primer, so 99% of saws, brush cutters, hedge trimmers etc are like this, there used to be odd saws etc that were primers the original Husqvarna 3120xp for instance.
  4. Oh Steve I am welling up.
  5. Did not mean to offend, just to say I though it confusing, however having read it a few times more it does make sense, hope we are not going to fall out over it.
  6. First thing to do as it is very easy to do is remove the muffler and check the condition of the piston skirt through the open exhaust port, any scuffing or damage and its coming apart what ever, good luck.
  7. I guess the question is why did you take it off, if it was running ok there would be no reason to remove it, anyway, pipes to purge bulb not connected the right way round, fuel hose kinked or maybe the original reason for removing the carb is still there.
  8. Sorry my friend some of these statements are confusing and not correct.
  9. So I guess you have a huge air leak, or you have no impulse for some reason.
  10. Did you remove the flywheel at any time? if so has it sheared the flywheel key?
  11. Spud is quite correct ref the flow of the fuel, you have to remember it’s a purge, not a primer, put round the wrong way and a couple of pumps will flood the engine, note the two pipes on the purge bulb, the short connection will be the suction side so goes to the metering side of the carb, the longer connection is the pressure side goes back to the tank, the fuel hose from the tank goes to the the pump side of the carb, then as Spud said the fuel is pulled from the tank to the purge bulb via the carb, and from the bulb back the the tank, this allows you to pump as much as you like without flooding the engine. c
  12. I think I showed you the jigs I had for those springs, a bit redundant now with the claw springs etc.
  13. Only a baby spring on the 136/141 ,the three shoe clutches are a different animal, the same clutch is still used today on the 135, it is the Poulan clutch.
  14. Pretty sure on that vintage of saw there was just the plastic tube pushed in and a aspirin shaped white pellet pressed in ( Vion ) the addition cap and hose was a later fitment.
  15. Put one shoe on the spider with spring, clamp the shoe and spider in the vice ( not to tight as the spider is a sintered material and will snap ) put the second shoe in the spring, then lift some and spring onto the spider just with your fingers not screw drivers, the spring should not come as there should be a big penny washer behind the clutch.
  16. Is that like rubbing two saws together to light a fire?
  17. Frying filters Steve, new one on me.😄
  18. If it’s in the carb then it must be coming from whatever is in the fuel tank, drain the tank fit a new filter( there is a blue top very fine fuel filter available ) a try again.
  19. The reason for the change of part no. Was extra insulation around the wires were they enter the crankcase, there was an issue with them grounding out in this area.
  20. I saw many 345 and 350 shed their mufflers, the later muffler has an additional fixing, so the cylinder gained an additional thread, it was possible to fit the muffler support bracket from the 346xp before the new muffler was introduced, how did you repair the burnt hole in the oil tank? This is an old semi pro saw so you need to think about how much money you throw at it.
  21. There is maybe more parts than you realise to turn one back, good luck with your search.

    A little advice

As you have asked, Stihl, Honda, Yanmar. Stock answer user error.
  23. Then do it and maybe just maybe the sheep will follow.

    A little advice

Cost, as he is not as I understand it a pro user, they are less racy than the 550 and 560 but excellent quality, and feel free to shoot me down but are more accepting of any warranty unlike some I could mention .
