  1. Cheers, Should be good for the roadside trees hedges and ivy clad trees, plus good for towing the tipper trailer to sites to remove chip. Can't wait to get her working this week.
  2. Just picked up my new toy and first job was to take the kids up for a ride while removing Christmas decorations from the house.
  3. How do lads Going for the first time this year with the family and dragging the young apprentice along. Also booked for the climbing to have a go while I'm still fit enough, even borrowed a caravan for the mrs and mother in law to rough it in while me and the kids are tenting it. Looking forward to meeting you boys over the weekend, sharing a few beers and chalkys cooking.
  4. Just what I'm in the process of sorting out too. Be interested in seeing where the thread goes.
  5. She is in fact a 6610 4wd 1987. She used to be owned by a member on here called Chris, and I'm sure he will be happy to see her spruced up. I haven't managed to send him pics yet so hopefully he sees the thread.
  6. Cheers Ian, it's like having a new toy. Your new mog is looking smart aswell
  7. A few from yesterday, the tractor came out in its new set of clothes for the first time this year to pick some sticks, since having a total overhaul. And she's looking reet Purdey
  8. Hire a track barrow or tracked skip loader, they can fit through tight accesses.
  9. Happy new year Pete .22 rimfires are great for vermin I have shot more foxes with this round than my .223 and .243 combined. get a silencer on it and put some subsonics through it. Ricochet is always going to happen you just have to make sure you have a good backstop, it also depends on the type of ground you are shooting over. Happy hunting
  10. Yeah your right they are supposed to carry an alpine tractor on the load bed, then when you get to site unload the tractor and off into the woods you go. It's a very versatile set-up whichever way you use it. I generally use it behind the Landy delivering bags of wood or bringing back timber from site. I also attach it to the compact tractor for round the yard shifting wood to the processor. It's also great for stacking and shifting brash with the grab.
  11. Your right it was a little wobbly driving home that night;) had the lads following behind to give load status reports just in case I took a corner too sharp. It works great with the Landy the td5 pulls it like a train and you sometimes forget you have a couple of tonne on the back end until you touch the brakes. I found a second hand trailer which is rare but it was less than half the price of a new one. I don't think I could justify buying a new one at that price but they are very useful and well thought out trailers.
  12. We have a Riko fast tow, very good trailers I must say and well set up. Plus It can pick up lumps of wood that would seriously surprise you. It also has a sliding bed so you can adjust the nose weight on the tow ball to stop overloading.
  13. £480, nice early finish but still charge a day unless you think you will smash it out. it's always hard to price from a picture but if you think it's a days work plus grinding plus all the messing about clearing up and carting away. Do you have to hire a grinder or have you got one? Good luck
  14. Not legal at all they should destroy your details as soon as they have used them for the first initial purchase.
  15. Mine is an 07 plate tipper with a 5 speed box. I've had it for nearly 6 years now and it's pulled an unbelievable amount of weight in that time The solid clutch kits are good our duel mass lasted about 20,000 miles I put the first solid one in when the transit hit about 70,000 miles and it lasted till it hit 163,000 miles. I've just changed the gearbox as the original gave up and put another clutch in at the same time. So as long as the chassis and cab hold out for the next 100,000 jobs a good one (touching lots of wood regularly) as we all know what ford stands for. Fixed Or Repaired Daily.
  16. Practicality brown have a new fendt with Ahwi mulcher head, they always give a good price speak to Alistair he will sort it out. Good luck
  17. Hi Jo a lad I use has got a wagon with a good crane on it and he will probably take the timber as well. Plus he's local if you want his number let me know, he is a good price too. Cheers geoffers
  18. A stick the length of your forearm and a measuring wheel if your feeling flush
  19. The large track grinders are relatively cheap as they will cover a fair size area in a day, so depending on how thick the ground cover is around where the stumps are will be dependant on how quick they will cover the area. If the ground is just rows of stumps they will fly over it and it will cost you less. Best thing to do to get a rough price is to send photos of the areas showing the terrain and job in hand to get an accurate price for the job. But for the area you are looking to clear if the ground is just stumps with little undergrowth I would think a mulcher would have them done in three days.
  20. A tracked mulcher would take the roots right out if needed, as they can lower the head right into the ground to rotovate everything in. They use them in all sorts of situations for re generation. I have used them lots of times and they are very capable of doing a job like that in one pass.
  21. Tracked mulcher should sort that easy. Practicality brown has a couple try them.
