That's great Shavey, I think it has sentimental value for him. It runs fine but putting the brake on hits the bar! How much would you like for it? 07970 112902 when you've got a moment.

    Dolmar

While we're on the subject of Dolmars. Does anyone have a clutch cover for a 112? A mate has broken his with the brake handle and it's certainly not safe to use as it is.
  3. How much of that wind are you providing Jon?
  4. Haven't looked at one of these, but it if has any similarity with other Husky chainbrakes you should be able to make a replacement from a drill bit shank of the same size. Cheap and works!
  5. That isn't either, something fishy going on here.... Leave out "index of" and put h-machine.jp/followed by the bit that says part
  6. That isn't what I typed! Index of /part_list/stihl
  7. Try, Index of /part_list/stihl Just worked for me.
  8. Sorry, dozy moment! I didn't read your post properly. Silly question but is the comp. ridiculously high or low? May be the gudgeon pin hole is further away or nearer the top of the piston than standard.
  9. Hi Wicka, think I've got one in my old pistons box. I'll have a look and get back.
  10. 500 quid and still not fixed properly! It's not rocket science and it's not exactly the most difficult saw to work on. That's disgusting!
  11. I have a nice 260 for sale: £200. New sprocket, good 16" bar and new chain. Should suit you perfectly. Pm me if you're interested.

    Porting Saws

You either like it or you don't, but you have to try it now and again to make sure! Spud's on pound pots now!

    254xp bar

Thank you Sawtroll, I knew you'd pop up! More concerned about getting a small spline sprocket that will still drive the oil pump. I don't really understand what the large spline drum is doing on this saw. It goes like banshee so I'd like to tone it down a bit with a 7 tooth rim.

    254xp bar

I forgot to say: I have a nine pin one on there at the moment but the chain is scarily fast!

    254xp bar

While we're on the subject of254's, I have one I have just tweaked a little but has the clutch drum with the large spline and the four quadrants that stick out past the rim sprocket to drive the oil pump. I am finding it very difficult to find a 7 pin rim .325 sprocket to fit. No delivery date from Oregon is available. When I look at a small spline clutch drum the oil pump drive quadrants aren't there. Don't say fit a 3/8 rim sprocket as I several .325 bars!
  16. Is Rover a professional comedian? That was really funny.....

Hi Steve

A few preliminaries:

Remove bar, clean out the grooves and make sure the oil holes are clear.

With bar off start saw and see if oil is coming out of the feed hole.

Try adjusting the oil flow using the adjuster underneath the saw.

If nothing is coming out of the feed hole you may have to poke

something flexible down it in case something from the tank has blocked the tube.

Try those before you take the pump apart.

  18. Just find a self-tapper about 1" long that screws into the black handle. That'll be fine.
  19. In these days of the disc cutter with Lithuanian battery, it doesn't matter what lock you have. Leave a box of rat poisoned posh sandwiches in your container to keep the vermin down.
  20. Not surprised Spud, you've been very helpful to me and I've mended and rebuilt dozens of saws now! Ported one or two as well!
  21. The little animal in the logo is a kangaroo. This would probably have been made in Sorby's Kangaroo Works in the early 19th century.
  22. Quite right, Jon boy! I have Robert Sorby drawknife. Great and proper old tools, hard as he'll. they don't make them that good anymore. Many of these great old tools are refurbished and sold by Tools for Self reliance (Cymru) in Crickhowell, of which I happen to be chairman this year! Visit our website.....
  23. Spud, you're like Jesus in the desert sometimes. I know the problem, I have and old 036 that will also bite your hand off if you try a wimpy pull for exactly the same reason. Luckily it usually starts first time!

Let's hope the mangers d'escargot can get their merde together and keep the bloody anglias points serious restricted! I'm sure Wayne isn't the grudge bearing type!
