    Stihl 090av

That's where I got that price, Bill!

    Stihl 090av

Just picked up an 090 in quite good nick but with a knackered decomp. Anyone got one kicking about? 11060209400. Don't fancy paying £23 plus postage for one. TIA
  3. Looks like somebody has been very busy! Site looks good but "Today's Posts" are not as accessible as they were on the old page.
  4. I'm sorry about that Eggs, I said the same thing when both of mine went until someone brought this little, hard done by chap to see me..
  5. It's an alloy one but no cracks in the handle or anything.Doesn't have a fuel cap.
  6. I have an alloy fuel tank and handle assembly for an 038 not super, but I think they are the same. £20 + post if you need it.
  7. Well done Mr B! A lot of hard work. Let's hope the charity site can get it together so it's a Christmas Raffle next year.
  8. Think we'd better turn it upside down to pull it over without the plug. You may have the crankcase full of water, which would give you the hydraulic lock. Best strip and clean carb at the same time.....
  9. I think the hole should be slightly smaller....Looking forward to seeing your patch Spud!
  10. Double bitt axe. Occasionally, not often, and none at the moment, sorry☹️
  11. Don't forget to check out Tools for Self-Reliance(Cymru) if you're anywhere near Crickhowell. We have lots of old re-furbed bill hooks by Nash, Elwell, Staniforth etc, usually at less than £30. Plus lots of other hedging and green woodworking tools. Usually some on our website for sale. Thanks for reading, please forgive the plug!
  12. This is a regular fault. An upgraded manifold kit is available. I need to get one too.
  13. What do you mean by died? I need a crankshaft that's OK as an 026 I have at the moment has has the thread snapped off by an over enthusiastic tightener!
  14. I suffer terribly with the bloody things and swell up hugely ( they never bite you anywhere you want to swell up!). An antihistamine containing cetridazine is brilliant, you take one a day and it doesn't make you drowsy. Doesn't stop them biting but at least stops the horrible swelling and itching. They are available in Aldi and Savers, much cheaper than the chemist.
  15. I have the same one. Paid about £26. It's very good, you just slide the collar to change from pressure to vac.
  16. Just remember to turn them back half a turn before re-screwing them back in. Then they won't start a new thread and weaken the hole.
  17. Found a load of these big boys in a wind blown Lawson a few weeks ago. Any idea of what they are. Coin is a 5p.
  18. I have an 038av brake assembly here. I got it from the states but the saw needed too much work to be economic. Make me an offer....
  19. Near Crickhowell. Thanks for the end-sealing tip Steve.
  20. Don't know if any of you guys use this but I have length of hawthorn about 10" across and 5 feet long. Seems a pity to cut for firewood.
  21. Will pay £80 for the pair plus shipping if the faults are that obscure!
  22. I have one I bought in Aldi that contains about 10m of hose. It's the same as the more expensive Clarke ones. Cost about £24 and still fine over a year later.
  23. Hear, hear! I have a PCL mk2, having had the crappy supermarket one that fell to bits and went back, and a Draper. Clip on PCL is easily the best.
  24. I have an 038av brake band and linkage. What do you mean by a top plastic?

    Best axes.

Blatant plug for Tools for Self Reliance Cymru! We have a large selection of refurbished old bill hooks by the likes of Elwell, Staniforth, Whitehouse etc, Elwell axes. Billhooks cost no more than those horrible, modern Spear & Jackson things with the silver paint. 01873 810675 10.00 to 14.30 not Monday's. Thank you!
