  1. Or give Graham at Orange plant in Geordie land a call, he will know
  2. Forward switch, mine went years ago.

    Best jacket

    Clark cut and climb.
  4. Customer has a large stump in there garden, it has honey fungus, there are fruiting bodies all over the lawn, 2 of there connys in the hedge have died and it's looking like HF is the culprit. Any ideas what they can do to stop it spreading?
  5. eBay has some stein guards, £170 I think, I have some and they are spot on.
  6. Is fitting included?
  7. I have a TW 150 VTR and a bandit HB 20 and I would like to get them on a trailer together. I need to measure up!
  8. Try spider lift in Derby, they have some awesome tracked machines.
  9. That's cool that you can get both on it.
  10. What trailer is that Johnny? Size? It fits a grinder and chipper??
  11. I find met office app is spot on, most of the time its accurate to within an hour of what it says. I don't know why I check it though as we will crack on in any weather.
  12. So that's what you would pay? What would you want to earn doing it?
  13. He asked for an idea of how much to charge. I gave him an idea of how much to charge. Whether he does or not is a different matter. Why don't you give him an idea of how much to charge?
  14. Depends how much he can log, if he is felling and logging with his own kit then it has to be paid for.
  15. Why? His overheads have to be covered, if he is working for customers doing it he should have insurance and then there are tools, fuel wages etc. climbers get paid what their area dictates like I said in the other post. I agree that a good skilled climber in an ideal world would be on £200 a day and I would be charging £1000 a day for a 3 man crew and chipper but it ain't like that. Our industry is undervalued as it is and with colleges churning out "climbers and cutters" who will then work for nowt it ain't gonna get better.
  16. And contract climbers set their rates as the market allows. I know very good climbers with all kit etc who work for 120 to 160 a day. Why would someone want to pay a contract climber £180 a day when he could pay £140 for the same thing.
  17. He's logging not climbing as he says in the post.
  18. Why single Jon out? He is one of the sound people on this forum?
  19. £160 without tractor. Overheads, depreciation, insurance, all these things need to be taken into account, then your wage, tax etc it all adds up. There are to many people out there working for nothing, don't be one of them.
  20. My landrover ain't ever let me down, sure things go wrong but there soon fixed. My mate has a hi lux and he has troubles like others do. My landy has had to pull a hilux across a wet field as the hi lux got stuck:)
  21. I fancy that with a chip box and winch, propper job, TDv6 would be cracking pulling the chipper. I want!!!!
  22. What size rope would you suggest if I got one? Its 2k so want to get it right.
  23. Any of the Arbtalk sponsors, fr jones, Gustharts, Clark's, they will all look after you.
  24. Good info Mike, thanks, I have a couple of big takedowns coming up and I have used Hobbs in the past and it was great but I'm trying to see the best option for my money as I only want to spend once.
  25. So it can do what a Hobbs does and more?
