  1. Did all right Mark, if I had to do it again I would charge more though. Good crack though, all the lads really stepped up to the plate on this one. Having a couple of beers now!!
  2. God if I still had my Valmet it would have saved our backs!! I chipped into the land and there was 3 loads going half a mile up the road so that was good. The journey with the wood was t to bad, 40 mins round trip. I have out about 10 business cards so hopefully will get more jobs out of it. Plent of lowering so was good to keep up the lowering skills. The lads did an awesome job.
  3. Well in my 13 years of having a firm this job is the only one I have underestimated how long it would take, with the obsticals, traffic and wind it put is behind but we got it done and got 6 10x5 ifors with cage sides full of wood and 2 others which I sold on straight away. It's been a good experience and today the customer bought us fish and chips and then a pint after we had done. The weather stayed fine and nobody was hurt, lots of things learned as well. Both trees had rot in them the first was hollow at the root plate right up to about 20ft and the second was hollow about 20 ft up.
  4. Mate, its hard to tell of them pics though, that looks like sycamore or ash so you beech will be heavier. It really is hard to tell from pics though:)
  5. I think there may be less than 8-10 but its hard to tell as its spread out.
  6. Yes mate, if fresh wood but if seasoned it's not gonna be that mate.
  7. 8-12 maybe
  8. No where near mate.
  9. Hard couple of days, traffic, house, car port and wind to contend with but the team got it done! Excellent work and I get all the wood too!!
  10. Yeah, he is flat out, 10 hours a day April to September. Low overheads so can make good money.
  11. My mate cuts grass, has a mower and strimmer and a car, £20 an hour. Makes you wonder eh.
  12. What s them green ear muffs you got on lads? Where you get them? Ta:)
  13. Trust 01604 492644 ask for Cameron. Good service and paid out without fuss and quick.
  14. Ha,Ha. Just spat my porridge everywhere!! He will have a fleet of them.
  15. Nice one mate I was only jesting, glad you took it that way:)
  16. Hodge

    Best jacket

Same here, Berghaus deluge I think the are, zip up leg for easy access.
  17. Will the Navara be over its wight limit towing that?? LOL...
  18. Oh well maybe just grind out the stumps then?
  19. 2 days for men and kit!! That's way to cheap.
  20. Too cheap in my opinion. If you get your timber for free then have a processor the maybe but a chainsaw and splitter then its a lot of work for that price.
  21. That's what we did, tow it round the garden with the chipper and ifor GX 84 plant trailer, picking up lots of apple trees that we cut down. Awesome combo.
  22. Sounds good, I winch big lumps up my ramps onto the 10x5 ifor, the winch is on the landy but will fit on onto the ifor at some point.
  23. I did that over about 20 meters, back and forth it was good if its your only option.
  24. Is that gonna help, I am going to grind out a large old stump that looks to be the cause of the Honey Fungus, there are a few other stumps around that can go also. Then should they just spray that area with that stuff? They don't want to loose all the trees in their garden, there is another conny in the hedge dying also.
