  1. How come u are moving Mate?
  2. Does not look anything like a Dog:)
  3. When I read your first post I was thinking it can't be much to do that, then I looked at your last post with price! Wow that's a lot to do such a little. Unreal!
  4. As much as you can get! £100 if I'm selling it.
  5. Blowing a hoolie up here, and were working through it!
  6. I'm looking at getting a pros talk 4000, has anyone any experience of them? I don't think one that sends a text would be any good as I have sheep, pheasants and deer roaming in my yard and that would be lots of txts.
  7. I have a ripping chain for a 36" Stihl if that's any good or a 36" husky to go with jp Alaskan. PMH Tree Surgeons, Kendal.
  8. That's how it should be mate, wish all employees thought like that:)
  9. My contractors and I follow the rule that if they break or damage anything through stupidity or negligence then they pay for it. If I cut my climbers rope I would be buying him a new one end of. Maybe have a chat with the lad and get a few things straight before you have anymore trouble.
  10. Sounds like a prick and wouldn't be used again in my opinion. I can't stand little hits like that. Teks the mick.
  11. Only had a hand full of awkward customers and I don't re deliver, one called for more wood but it really wasn't worth the hassle, one made me wait 3 weeks for £50 when he asked for more I told him where to go. This games hard enough without plonkers adding to it. Look after you good customers! I have one lady buys 1 bulk bag per week, September to May, she always pays on delivery.
  12. I have 2 and even though they may sit in the garage 90% of the time they do have there place in the tree game. Worth their weight in gold defo.
  13. If he did that then you just don't pay him, keep the money for the rope.
  14. Sorry to hear that Ross:(
  15. It's got a big hole in the trunk which is rotten and it's also bringing down the wall which is the gateway.
  16. Second that, must take balls to do that, good on him.
  17. Beech Removal today, ENWL sorted the power for us and had the Heartwood boys in to help, Monkeysteve was the Climber and Dave was on the ground along with the PMH crew. We lowered lots of the big stuff and then chog he'd down the stem in lumps. It was heavy stuff so we had a large lowering rope for that stuff. We had it stripped by 12 and had lunch the chogged it down and away by 2.30. Back int morning to fell the butt and log up.
  18. I do quite a few big priced jobs each year, most are less thank the 4k, that was an example. As you say each to there own and you do what's best for you.
  19. But the other 10+ competitors arnt vat reg.
  20. That's all well and good but I could loose double that by being vat reg and not getting jobs. On a 4 k job I recently did had there been vat to be added I doubt I would have got it.
  21. Yes but are your competitors? Only 2 of my competitors are vat reg so the customer has an easy choice.
  22. I have been fighting it for the last few years, I have looked into it and spoke to people on here about it and I can't see it working for me. 80% of my work is domestic and most people ask if there is VAT to be added. I fear I would not get the jobs if I was vat reg.
  23. The thread is a year old mate;)
  24. I have been pushing softwood this year as I have loads of dry cut and split stuff to off load, I bring a few bags home and love it! People need educating!
