1. Doesn't this break the first rule of farming! NEVER BUY A TOOL WITH A HANDLE
2. I'm in pretty much same position 4 bed stone C15 farmhouse I keep getting attracted to grants but every time I look something puts me off Latest was another thread here where they said they were looking at allowing wind blown timber to be used All my firewood is wind blown - does that mean I have to buy fuel in and throw my firewood away? Talking to people who have gone full green route there seem to be lots of technical glitches - and then someone on this site saying call outcharges are exhorbitant - when they should be warranty repairs in my umble opinion What seems to work are back boilers and accumilator tanks - the rest seems a bit dodgy
3. That was great for John Ruskin - he was loaded and wanted everything hand made - long term his philosphy hasn't held up - bit like saying everyone should drive a restored Bentley, lunch at the Ivy, and have their clothes made in Savile Row Liberty the shop - took Ruskins ideals, and then manufactured goods that looked handmade - they made £££££ In the real world we need just need to buy something that works, if one engine does the job at half price of another why not? What's needed is a reliable database of engine manufacturers and how good is their product. Essentially a list of what warranty claims have been made
4. Tried to set business up When part failed under warranty get ups ( or similar ) to deliver new part and then ups failed part back to the department that designed it - So they get fastest way to improve their product Ups can do this globally You'd think they would jump at it ......
5. Use woorank to get your SEO. Up n running .....
6. My son has just been offered PAY PAL machine for £50 ( half price ) It was so cheap, no brainer for him .......he uses pay pal on his website His new company is so small he's not worrying about %ages, just getting it up n running this year ........
7. Pi££es you off this sort of comment. A failed engine is really gold to the designers as it shows where their product needs improvement ..... Eg Land Rover took same attitude as above and their gearboxes are crap, mitsubishi gearbox layshafts used to fail but within a year or two they had made them stronger, they still occasionally broke so they made them even thicker - problem solved... A sensible company would be desperate to understand why their engines failed, You can take a horse to water........
8. When assessing did audi a8 They unscrewed sparking plug and chunk head came with it Fitted new head ( £10k) Then did it again ...... Called in after they had done third one Turned out to be hgh tension arcing and welding spark plug to head Make sure ht not arcing
9. If you know a student you can get office at half price I had to buy apple last month, and just walked up of couple of likely lads in the store One was student and "borrowed" his ID for £20 and got 16% discount All he had to do was flash his ID at scanner Everybody happy
10.

Hi Paul

Other side of the Berwyns, towards Llandrillo.....

So what's life like in the tropical lowlands of Cheshire?

11. I know solicitors have to be very careful If they are in the pub and someone asks them a question and they just shoot off an answer, they can be liable if the advice was crap .......
12. Done a lot of this over ten years Simple websites are generally just templates that you can do yourself if you can be bothered, but easier to pay few hundred £ and get it done SEO I spent ages trying to get this sorted, lot of rip off merchants saying 'it'll take you 12 months to get to the top, that'll be £1000 a month - and after a year he has £12,000 of your money..... If your serious about it use woorank, which had free option, tells you what to do each week to improve your position, (will also get you there quicker as SEO guys are taking their time to max their income ) Faster way be there tomorrow Use google advertising BUT limit your ads to a very tight geographical area, Relatively cheap to be top ad for tree work in Shrewsbury but very expensive to be top for the whole county
13. He definately said flying to Poland and Czechoslovakia fom Italy Also said Do gov't records office not know that Stalin is now dead ..... You know as much as I do
14. If you tell them you've done all you can - no guilt if it puts bus load of infants in wheelchairs for the rest of their lives I wrote to council about campsite where I inspected static caravans First one was blown out to sea and sank half mile off the coast week before season opened Second one was blown three miles inland and dropped on top of mountain week after season closed - Both must have been hundreds of feet up in the air Caravan site was scene of devastation, upside own vans etc If it happened when site full of kids....... So I wrote to council and said they needed better ground anchors -- nil reponse What more could I do?
15. In all honesty I don't know what he was doing it was definately pre 1945 but I cant remember exactly when he said it was Might have been 43, but were we in Italy then? Still v impressive
16. Talking to neighbour yesterday I knew he was jewish but he said his father was Polish And Flew With the RAF At end of war He was flying from Italy over czechoslovakia and poland Presumably for SOE His work was hush hush and his records have still not been released He asked his dad if he had won a particular medal, and his dad said " yes, four times" Remember if he was taken prisoner it was death sentence Brave guy
17. My brother worked in hospital in newfoundland Brought guy in who'd fallen on his chainsaw and cut his head off
18. Why not contact some of those guys in Eastern Block ( alibaba.com ) and get THEM to deliver a lorry load of kiln dried logs - they'll sell them ready bagged up too You just need pallet truck and rent a shed and your in business -- cash and carry logs Just got marketing to do then .........which is what your good at...... £10k and your in business - cheaper than mini cab
19. And the two scottish gays Ben Doon And Phil McCafferty
20. My father in law was chemist ( can't spell pharmacist) He drilled holes in roots and poured summat really toxic in to kill a tree Unforunately wrong tree Might be worth checking any exposed roots, or looking for signs of shallow digging That must be criminal offence
21. Had this problem few years ago Found we had loads of dd's going out every month Stopped them all then paid by card Every three months report card lost and get a new one Then everyone had to ring you to re-start payments ........ Saved us £1000's If you don't check your bank statements as often as you should it would be a good idea to do this now ......you'll be surprised who rings
22. I'll make prediction Cars will drive themselves within 4 years Then We'll stop buying cars and we'll lease them instead ( like private jets ) So growth business's will be car valeting, leasing Shrinking business's will be car parking, car sales, car servicing and repairs, bodyshops, Bet I'm right!
23. Suspect this is development model judging by guys in background [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD4UX5RgjJM&feature=youtube_gdata_player]China Wood Splitting Machine - YouTube[/ame]
