  1. We had springer spaniel that used to eat magic mushrooms Beautiful dog Died in her sleep when she was eight I buried a beautiful dog, broke my sons heart ( she was asleep on his bed) Leave them alone
  2. Bear in mind Yamaha are no longer doing petrol engine research They must see the writing is on the wall..... I would have thought back pachk carrying batteries and plug in tools might be a way forwards
  3. Forgotten smell of caps in toy guns, thanks for that..... I remember foot n mouth in 60's too Came back when I was assessor Combine drove over where they buried remains Soil was soft and combine took "big bite" of earth that did it no good at all

Down here in Wales They were "looking for people" to get involved in a project, as I had some experience I thought I go and see if I could help Turned up for first meeting, load of mates and me, didn't get invited to second meeting cos serious money was invoved, it was so clear it was all dodgy......shame the vicar was involved ..... If local government stinks, why isn't central gov't cleaning it up? Can only think it's even dodgier.......

  7. People are getting weirder and weirder, TV I think ..... When I was assessing used to regularily give a tramp a lift, he was great company on a drive, always happy to see him...I think he was happy guy Gave up with normal hitchikers though, they just wanted sit in silence, they can do that on a bus! Perhaps they never talk to anyone.....

  15. 20 years ago went to beaches on fiftieth anniversary They had just opened museum in Caen Some scary stuff There was american guy at american beach talking to his wife about his dad who had landed there and had a very tough time ....... Dog man on shoots in Bala ( now dead) had landed and gone right through to germany Said they stopped on banks of rheine ( I think that was river) and he was watching germans in greatcoats moving on the other side - he shot six Next day theycrossed and he'd shot six kids - he couldn't tell. They were just guys in german greatcoats ......

I know loads of pople on here will have D Day stories This is mine 70 years ago today My dad was ferrying a dakota between two airbases on south coast He said channel was absolutely full of boats so they went for a look and ended up over france When flak come up they turned around and came home, and told no one where they had been.... Hope it wasn't just a story.....I like the idea of going to D Day " for a look"

  23. I had bright idea of buying old fashioned zinc bar from french cafe to use in my kitchen as a worktop Abandoned it when I found they were £15k + as others had thought it a good idea too Mate put big piece of elm ( i think ) as a worktop, warped horribly after year or so .....
