  1. Read book about this called " you've done what my lord? " about toffs doing odd stuff written by his land agent Remember him ringing up and demanding quarter of million to buy flat underneath his London pad, because they were cooking curry and he didn't like the smell..... Guess he's made money on that one.......
  2. Not a proper test but I have some new cut logs under plastic pallet wrap There is more condensation around the ends of logs than along the split ......suggesting to me that moisture is coming out of the end.... That would make length of log more important
  3. http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/arblite_chainsaw_clothing.html#aXA_2fARBLITETRC_2eCAMO 404 error on link
  4. Just been on Canadian site and found this comment "STIHL - I do not know why but Stihl has cancelled any warranty on Stihl chain saws sold in Canada and shipped to the U.S."
  5. 2 years ago 80+ housemartins left ...... And didn't come back...... Still upset and hoping we'll get some this year
  6. I wish I could see how to upload pictures from my ipad It always asks me for a url
  7. Why's he andStihl using the internet ? King Canute rules ( but possibly not for ever )
  8. Some yearsago reported abuse to the RSPCA an elderly farmer had gone a bit nuts ( stored dip in the house) and was buying sheepdogs and keeping them in a barn with no food 12 dogs went in 1 or 2 came out.....and it wasn't stopping I dithered a bit then contacted RSPCA , they did nothing......
  9. There is no legal requirement re purchase of a saw...its not a gun So this is just an attempt by Stihl to try and control retail price of a saw That suggests to me that if you line up all the makes/models of saws on one website, Stihl don't come out of the comparison too well.......
  10. Can't concretefloor as .i put in eectric underfloor heating 8 years ago Great, but too expensive to run, we had 14 feet snow twelve months ago and couldn't get to logshed ....had to put underfloor on, next bill £1500 ... Not acceptable I have worked from home since 1988, so my max commute is 35m unless I forget keys when it doubles, no problem firing up woodburners If I could get grant would probably go for log fired biomass ..... But getting pissed off with everyone saying you can't do that with logs .... Seeing american boilers at $3500 being sold for £8000 in uk pisses me off too...... I've never had central heating so all new to me ..... If I get old at night I put another dog on ......
  11. Do you think we should print off this discussion and send to head of marketing STIHL UK? Genuine customer feedback to him re his business, how valuable is that?
  12. 3 days ago here ( n wales)
  13. I think you can get internet thermostat controls which means you could runroom temperatures from your phone .........
  14. I'd love a system like that, but may be selling up in a few years time so cannot justify cost However if I do new build then will be looking for this sort of system.....
  15. Just taken out my rayburn royal.... Never really got the room warm and cost fortune in coal The old one in my previous house was brilliant, could fill right up on friday night, come back sunday and house was warm and it was still in ......just .... Put brand new one in when we did house up along with fancy chimney stack that cost fortune ...very disappointing ......replaced with lpg range cooker two years ago, but now need to get heating sorted ...... And I have a lot of free wood
  16. Don't say that.... I don't want another job I'm going to have to do myself ..... That way lies real trouble!
  17. Got a friend who was in currys shrewsbury with her mate They got diabolical rude service re something mate had bought Her mate was going ballistic and being ignored Friend waited till they walked away and abandoned them and leaned over counter and switched entire system down Strolled out of shop leaving it in pandemonium, nothing working and major job to fire it all up again
  18. Beginnng to rethink full central heating system Plumber wanted to run surface pipes everywhere, I think it might spoil the house..... Might just go for partial system, + woodburners in bad weather i've got two good woodburners already which are easy to run So a Third for basic system ( hot water + 4 radiators ) might be better.....
  19. There is guy putting up horse boxes in Bala Business name Stable erections
  20. That's good to hear ..... Whats their quality like? There is one eBay site claiming higher output than the others ....i assume some vendor telling fibs
