    Watchdog

Yeah, perhaps a demo on how to say no and mean no. Those guys do deserve to be put in stocks though.
  6. Yeah I'm down with that. First thought on seeing the bark was field maple then then leaves caught me for a mo but nah, I'm well into box elder.

    Fungi ID ?

I wish I had some spare time to draw birds faces onto those. I instantly thought of the Kia-Ora advert - it's too orangey for crows!!!
  8. Hold on, I think I've answered my own question: ; So what I understand from that is that the LA are not liable should evidence not be present/the incident not being reasonably foreseeable.
  9. Hi, I'm unclear on how compensation in respect of refusals/conditions works. Say a tree owner applies to fell a tree and they have proved that it's dangerous by providing a credible report and the LA have refused consent, and the tree then fails and causes damage, I would imagine that the LA would be liable for compensation. If the tree owner applied to fell the tree with no report stating it was dangerous, perhaps for shading, overbearing, random reason and it was refused, then it were to fail, would the LA be liable for compensation? Likewise, if a LA were to validate an app that alleged the tree dangerous or causing damage but with no supporting evidence, and the tree were to fail, would this then allow compensation? I can appreciate why they would be liable if evidence was presented and they refused but can detect that applications could be made purely to trigger a refusal and subsequent year of indemnity. I've looked at the regs and it would seem that compensation is relevant no matter what the circumstances. Does anyone have any experience in compensation?
  10. Haha I didn't see this. If you can confirm adb from a crappy photograph you are wiser than I am. And I found pretty much every confirmed positive sample in Dorset, Wiltshire Hampshire and West Sussex. Plus a few just outside of this area.
  11. I prefer the way Metasequoia glyptostroboides rolls off the tongue. Tree is great too, autumn colour, grows like stink in the right conditions and is always a treat to see.
  12. Am I alone in thinking wasps are well good?
  13. Some LA's don't upload s211's.
  14. Actual lol
  15. If that doesn't make sense, let me know.
  16. You can plot directly into Google maps. I was shown how once but I forgot. Alternatively, open up Google Earth, find the trees, open the page as big as possible with nothing else in the screen. Press 'print screen' and then open up Paint and press 'paste'. Physically print the picture. Then try to position each canopy to the one you are measuring and annotate your map by hand.
  17. Small scale tip reduction, with loppers, perhaps 1-2m max, if you and or the financer has the patience. Hope that some of the small amount of dormant buds develop. Repeat in 5yrs. 10cm woodchip mulch as far out as possible. As a suggestion.
  18. Anyone else on here getting stuck into this this year? Counting down the days now. Sorting out the conservatory to act as an office for next few years and hoping it'll be soundproof enough to hide the incoming infant and my wife's wails.
  19. You'd be imprisoned for not recycling. And quite right too

  22. Post-it notes over absolutely everything.
  23. Nah its definitely not that. I've planted one of those and had a semi mature one at my last place.
  24. Crownlift and cut back from building.
