  1. Sounds bloody brilliant.
  2. Good on her.
  3. That's great
  4. It's Wych elm innit?
  5. Limitless supply of muffins and the afternoon icecreams went down well. Looking forward to crying about TPO trees on boundaries.
  6. What makes you think the council own the other side of the hedge?
  7. Yeah. A three year P+D surveying project. Year 2.
  8. Plenty of other reasons for ropey looking ash. The fruiting bodies should be now. Have a root route around the ground for blackened rachis with small off white trumpet shaped fungi.
  9. Alter your decision letter so that there is a slip for the applicant to return once they have replanted. Then you can check. Your tpo admin system should have a calender trigger for flagging up conditions that haven't been discharged. Use that to chase up those who didn't complete the slip.
  10. Ash dieback. 4 sites in each 10km square hants, West Sussex, berks, Surrey. Particularly looking for sites in the Bracknell area as there is chuff all ash up that way.
  11. I'll be surveying West Sussex in the next couple of months. Any particular places anyone is concerned about, let me know and I'll take a look.
  12. Guildford, Camberley, Petersfield, Farnham. Probably not Camberley though.
  13. Korma is usually more the phall colour round my way.
  14. When people complain about lack of light in northerly aspect rooms (trees immediately behind), crownlifting might not actually increase light levels one bit but the fact that they can see the sky sorts them right out, mush.
  15. Encourage a balanced foodchain. Attract birds to the garden. Play the long game rather than squirting chemicals at everything.
  16. Nah, all trees of whatever size - a woodland is a system which needs replenishing. Removal of all saplings will bugger up age classes and make it less sustainable in the long term.
  17. All trees within forever. Not just those present at time of making the order like with area tpo's. Doubt it would cause much uproar if you were to apply and state that they were not there at the time and you wish to reinstate the access. Is the access mapped anywhere?
  18. That's the fella!
  19. Morning, A roll of plastic to a depth of 1-1.5m would do it. Nothing fancy. Maybe dampproof membrane as they are hard-wearing and should disintegrate in the ground. Make sure any joins are properly sealed. Just my guess.
  20. Morning! Bit of a conundrum - G. pfeifferi on a beech. Between 2 buttresses. Crown appears normal. No indication of Meripilus. Kids wander under it on a daily basis. One person proposes reduction, the other to fell. I have no experience with this fungus. What are your thoughts/experiences?
  21. Pics of the stumps please.
  22. Pleurotus, possibly.
