  1. I booked onto it fine. I asked first whether I could as a non-member and was not a problem.
  2. Desicated Polyporous squamosus?
  3. Big swollen butt appearing to absorb the buttresses.
  4. Just found this posted on another forum and thought would be appreciated here. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/EPSA6FieldGuide.pdf/$FILE/EPSA6FieldGuide.pdf
  5. Treasure Island Dizzy Chuckie Egg Jet Set Willy GTA V
  6. Griffin Nursery in Liphook may be able to provide preached trees to get you started with a more instant effect.

    Lyme disease

My friend was in a coma for last summer after getting encephalitis following having a tick. That was a fun few months for her.
  8. I guess they could remove the existing tree and then hire one off you then plant it a bit further away so the wall can stay?
  9. Hi Wayne, A picture of the tree in situ would speak a million words. I've not heard of this species before and it looks quite interesting. With a piccy I'm sure someone here can work out a sensible alternative to having it down. Kind regards, AdamM
  10. Chuck a hedgehog gutter guard in yours and your neighbours gutters and keep the tree as apart from firewood, it has many uses such as providing oxygen, moderating temperature, wildlife habitat and other stuff like that.
  11. Rebuild the section of wall to account for the base of the tree? Shove a lintel in to bridge over tree.
  12. "The tree has a dangerous lean"
  13. In what way is is clueless? Is he crap at dragging sticks? Is he crap at sharpening? What does he need to progress at? How have you supported him? If you had said he's a tosser who can't be bothered, I'd say show him the door, but if he's keen and works hard, he's worth a punt.
  14. I was going to go with Perenniporia.
  15. They call all conifers "fir trees".
  16. I've lived here for ten years and the council never maintain their trees and they have doubled in size and move in the wind and they drop acorns into my grandchildren!
  17. Yeah, mowers/strimmers tickling the butt.
  18. Possibly Armillaria, if what looks like an annulus at the top of the stem is indeed an annulus at the top of the stem.
  19. Yeah that. Due to keen mowers.
  20. Perhaps the other trees wouldn't be a restraint on the proposed development, therefore it would not be expedient to make the TPO. While trees will often be pro-actively protected, others will not pop up on the LPA's radar until planning applications are made or work gets carried out on other nearby trees (resulting in manic calls to the council from concerned members of the public).
  21. Spent July/August running just under 2 full time jobs to pay off a decent wedge of my wife's car that we got on a credit card. 1 week before I was due to complete the 2nd full time job I followed traffic through a puddle and killed the engine. Insurance wrote it off, paid out (thank god) but their market value wouldn't get me anything like what I had before so had to spend all the extra money from the 2nd job on buying another car On the other hand though, I didn't see my wife for those 2 months But when I did see her, at the end of all this, and every day since, she has done this face:
  22. Leaf blotch/leaf miner moths - not much of an issue. More unsightly than anything else. If you have found fungal brackets on the tree, their significance depends on what species they are, where they are located, how the tree has reacted, how much useful wood is left, where the useful wood is, the value of any targets,....... i.e. get a photograph for a more useful answer. Reducing the tree may or may not be appropriate. With more info, the tree could be left intact, reduced, felled, mulched, prodded, jabbed or scrutinized. Get your pics out.
  23. 100% not ash dieback.
  24. Sounds like he ate his carrots.
