1. Are there going to be T Shirts? Btw - great service on a callout to a dicky towbar joint with my 130 bought in Sept 14. Sent a chap from P'boro to sort it on site whilst we chipped. I knew the gear was good, hence the purchase - but the back up is very reassuringly green. Russ Are there going to be T Shirts?
 2. Not exactly local, but thanks anyway! Russ
 3. Seems to be a gap in the market around here for towable MEWPs. The ones that I'm aware of are owned by other Arb outfits and whilst available for hire are in use most of the time by the owner. Anyone help out with a contact please? Russ
 4. Like the last bit a lot. Rest was good too. Russ
 5. Demo a GM Arb 130, your quest will have ended. I worked as a sub for a few companies with various other chippers so I had an idea what was achievable and what to avoid. Ask Arblease about finance. If you can stump up a deposit of 10% of the total price plus paying the VAT up front, you're looking at half of what your current thoughts are on monthly payments. Russ
 6. Budding in December........ Russ
 7. Or just go to work & work hard ? :-) Sorry, just re-read your post and saw you are a desk whalla. Concept Rower - every time. Russ
 8. I'm on a ACE - bar the tip of the wire rope not being welded correctly (got it replaced with a nice discount) first time round, I've used it in anger a fair bit over the last 10 months and no problems to date. Tirfors are really expensive and a brand name. Russ
 9. Lovely pics - can smell the clean air! Mate of mine has a place near Aljezur (fantastic fish market, lovely Tamborril / Monkfish) where we stay on kitesurf trips. Carrapeterria beach for the big days. When the wind was absent we used to head up in the mountains - you live in a lovely place. Sorry if I've misplelt place names. Russ
 10. Loving that last one Bob. The cat in the basket is pretty cool too. They can be really goods mates, cats & dogs can't they. Russ
 11. A metal water bottle you can clip onto your harness saves you having to come down for a drink and (the important bit) keeps you hydrated. Russ
 12. The price of £1k for a 5 day course plus assessment is very expensive. From experience you should be coming in around £700. If you haven't got it already, there is then the added cost of PPE - boots, trousers, gloves & lid. Essential gear anyway but mandatory for a course. If you're looking to wear this stuff all day for a living, the cheap stuff isn't always comfortable. There will inevitably be opinions on this but look to spend around £150 - 180 on boots, similar cost on trousers. Remember - you're wearing it all day, £30 or £50 may seem a good saving initially, but long term - comfort is key. Any fool can be uncomfortable, as we used to say prior to a "tab". Good luck Russ
 13. Stumps felled to ground level rather than waist / knee height..........as taught. :-) Russ
 14. Like that. Got a partial leaner with compromised root plate that needs the top knocking off before felling. Currently held up by ratchet straps @ 45 degrees as it's going to tickle the neighbouring fence. No MEWP access. Solid Silver Birch within 3 ft of leaner at the required height, your tip just made the job doable. Instincts prior to this were kicking in. :-) Russ
 15. All been said before, but taking that "instinct" thing a tad further: It's a REAL sense going back to caves and mammoths, lost to just about everyone bar the type that encounter danger (real danger) daily, be it in sport or work. You said you were a rock climber - why are you beating yourself up for listening to that self preservation little-known known voice called instinct? You should know you made the right call. BTW - An ACE winch (Tifor equivalent) costs £150.00 for a medium size model. I'd be asking what kind of an outfit it is you've been working for that places a climbers safety against basic kit being available? Russ
 16. New Ranger - potential gearbox recalls (allegedly). Heard a couple of the OP fleet have been down? Russ
 17. Super Cab - Occasional passenger space (never) but handy if required. Flip up seats for high value tool storage (and day to day stuff) with high tint windows. V Single Cab - Tool Box Ad for carrying high value gear. Harder to find but worth the wait.......... Russ
 18. All very nice & cosy - however Jan 2nd always gets my vote as the way ahead. It is what it is and if you can deal with it - welcome to a life free from "festive hype" Failing that, get past the financial angst & general stress and think "maybe next year......" Russ
 19. Wishing you all the very best for January 2nd Russ
 20. Basic terms of payment on the quote (mine are on completion unless otherwise agreed) - duplicated on the invoice with the courtesy call the day before to remind them you are coming (access clear, no dog crap etc) & the question "how will you be paying"? Managing the expectations early on makes it easier. I used to be a bit coy on asking for payment, people exploit that as they see it as a chink in the armour. Older & wiser now, it's a subject that should form part of the "patter" as you do the quote. Russ
 21. Broughtons at Barnetby le Wold - £ 550 for my bespoke job on the Ranger. Russ
 22.

Hey Sam

My EE signal issues are still a problem. Got your text but can't reply.

I can pop & see the B&B no worries. Could do with you for a couple of days week after next? Can you let me know on here?

If it helps, I've no problems with pictures going on here.

Cheers

 23. Got it summed up perfectly there fella. I send out cards via Moonpig which state: Hoping the "Festive Period" is all you want it to be and wishing you the very best for January 2nd. I really do - honest. Recent TV footage on Black Friday made me cringe. Did you see that Munter with the red hair? Sheep & general masses all bemoaning how skint they are for most of the year because they get sucked into the big hype. Russ
 24. Long story cut short; Signal in North Lincs (LN7 area) down, EE aware and working on it.............. My a#se...... Russ
