  1. NFG - it's simple billing stuff associated with running down the old line on divert whilst we move, ensuring the smooth transition of customer calls being rerouted to a new number etc. Cannot make them understand it hasn't happened despite them assuring me it has. Bob - I'm close to binning them, but it's just another layer of potential business interruption I can do without. There must be someone out there..... Busby?
  2. We've got issues with our BT broadband and phone line following a recent house move. Now I know how to work call centres and get a responsible adult to deal with my issues normally - however, I have to admit I'm close to beaten here. All lines to BT go to a call centre in India if you have a problem, and tbh the level of effective service is nil. Does anyone have an in to a UK number for such issues? In anticipation. Russ
  3. Pretty much that. All I would add is, be wary of who you learn from as a regular mentor away from the ideal world of tickets. A lot of folk out there talking the talk......... Russ
  4. We use Fiskars Telescopic Garden Cutter UP86, awesome. Good for reduction work when you are in the canopy and its getting more twiggy than branches also.
  5. Best one you listed......
  6. SUPERCAB = Super truck. Good price, get some Mich AT' s on and you are ready to go.
  7. I've stripped out ivy in heavy volumes and experienced the same symptoms, and then when doing a few "as you're here can you just....." jobs which involve just a few minutes of exposure have the same issues. It's a constricted aspect to the breathing that worries me - be good to hear some grounded and scientific explanation to aid future such work. I'm not allergic to anything other than grass pollen, hornet venom, and nosey neighbours.....
  8. I've got a BR600r, used them for over 6 years - no worries, very powerful. Guy I work with has the Husky high end model, slightly more grunt - but the boxy air filter on top make storage in truck compartments tight. It's only because of this that I'm with the 600, the power thing isn't a significantly bigger jump. Slightly off topic. Blower football - 3 man teams on a five a side pitch. Goalies with backpack blowers and the forwards with handhelds..... Rio here we come.
  9. Well said and appropriate, but you have to remember he's behind a keyboard wanting such responses. I appreciate you sharing the fact, and have forwarded it on to people in the area, who really appreciate the heads up - the comments they made about the Troll don't want repeating, as as tempting as it is I won't feed him. Difference is here I'm dealing with real people and not a faceless gorm who's obviously got real issues. Thanks for sharing, here's to catching whoever did it and making sure it will never happen again...
  10. Assuming that's a troll. So I'll stop gearing up for a proper "get a life rant".
  11. Refer to my original comment. FFS - if you want to build a business as a pro outfit, why waste your time looking like that on your first outing? You only get one chance to make a first impression.
  12. That is horribly bad. Harsh? Yes. For a reason. Standards & public perception.
  13. My humour is lost on these barren lands. :-(
  14. Don't forget spikes.....those need to fit really well.

  16. Yeah, it was a minging thing I did, no doubt about it & I'm sure it offended people. I accept that, no issues at all. Difference being now is that whilst the cigarettes are vilified, the vapers feel it's acceptable to blow their disgusting lung contents my way in a fashionable way. It's offensively horrible. Good luck with packing in the fags (I mean that with all the empathy I can give with my struggle to bin nicotine behind me now), but don't confuse quitting for real with having an even more socially repulsive habit as a replacement. I say as I see (& smell) foul smog.
  17. As an ex 20 B&H per day smoker, not touched for some 10 years now - I applaud all efforts to quit. Got to say however, the Vape smoke/smog/mist is a really vile thing to be around, I find it quite offensive & just because it's not a cigarette, doesn't mean you can feel socially justified in blowing the contents of your lungs & throat in my space. If someone with halitosis constantly breathed in your face........how long would it be? Seriously - it's a honking thing to see and let alone breath.
  18. Good thread, some nice looking jobs. Gotta say, unpainted ply looks awful and doesn't give a good pro look. Painting it wont cost you much and makes you look far more professional. You only get one chance to make a first impression.
  19. As has been said already, make it hard for them. Doesn't hurt to have them changing trousers too. Alarm Mine [H4990] - £13.50 : Henry Krank, Everything for shooters and collectors At chest level, so the wildlife don't set it off. Perfectly legal & effective.
  20. Spot on description. Only takes a bit of time to get the hang of how it works. If you can't pass the test, move on to lesser brands. :-)
  21. No problems here. I've been using them years on lots of different pieces of gear. Easy to get wrong admittedly - but once you know how they work........
  22. Ring Arborisk - you will wonder why you used anyone else before. Russ
