  1. Its the industries norm , I would start to panic if it was any different Bob
  2. Chris I dont understand the pessimism , if you have raised the game a bit and are renting a yard just up the ante a bit more and buy one. I am not saying its easy but its doable as many on here can confirm. You need to be away from houses to avoid the complaints and council intervention, they only act on complaints so out of sight and earshot is important. Its the only sort of finance that's worth having in my opinion, every penny spent on rent is the bit that's getting pissed in the wind. Bob
  3. Buy a place, its a pension plan . Bob
  4. Its the sort of thing you would have thought manufacturers would have come up with. Men in sheds Bob
  5. Also known as a Pie key I think. Bob
  6. Are you buying in timber or are you chipping/burning arb waste? Bob
  7. Nice:thumbup1: Bob
  8. Wrong picture, its only a small hiab.
  9. Mr Huck is right but the 250kg they use up is worth it, there is an 031 on my ten tonner that punches well past its weight and what it wont lift on it can drag over the side. Bob
  10. With a centre punch and hammer you could try and peen the pinhole shut, failing that weld it up. Bob
  11. What have you broken now JB? Bob
  12. Near Guildford Surrey a permanent position here for two groundies that are prepared to muck in on landscape duties on occasion, a cutter for mainly forestry work and a machine driver ( 360) with FMOC or CITB certs. CV`s or details and contact numbers to [email protected] Att Richard Bob
  13. Could be an old yank wartime ex army truck axle, something like a Dodge. Bob 40`s Dodge
  14. Better paid and a lot more of them, the plants and labour will be a tiny fraction in the whole scheme. I would imagine there was a consultant involved along with the expense of many other pen pushing leeches. Makes my piss boil.Anger as 539 council bosses paid more than PM Theresa May Bob
  15. Need or want? There is a big ugly 200hp 24" Morbark WTC chipper here that I would recommission and put out on hire if there was enough interest. Currently festering in the corner of the yard. Bob
  16. I had to go into a vodafone shop a few years ago to sort out a few issues, I was asked this question. Wamafyaban? I had to ask this spotty kid to repeat the question several time before I gave up , I asked his colleague what this prick was trying to say and it transpired it was a security question, he wanted to know what month I was born. Turns out the white spotty one thinks he is a yardy. Bob
  17. Chris if you dont have a three phase supply get a diesel/petrol arc welding set for a few hundred quid and buy a remote wire feeder. Best of both worlds because you can then mobile stick and mig weld. Just plug the leads into the remote wire feeder from the welder and connect the gas, should do all you want. Wire feed is inside the unit, one on the right is for on site , left hand one wont do rain Bob
  18. Should have bought urlektric Tom Bob
  19. Hire before you buy and see how you get on, local dealers offerings would be the biggest deciding factor for me. I have Greenplant just up the road who bend over backwards to help so TW makes a lot of sense here, its not about choice for me but serviceability and a good dealer backup. They all go wrong so spares on your doorstep account for something. Bob
  20. Chris I would sooner spend the £500 on a quality secondhand machine ,as Tom suggests a decent Murex or if the budget would stretch to it get an Esab. Bob
  21. Accountancy , pension plan and advertising. Bob
  22. Dont worry too much Stubby, the billion flys on top of it will probably help hold the smell off Bob
  23. Is there a big breaker bar and 24mm socket in there JB Bob
  24. There is enough space between the chassis rails and tipper body for a tray, good for brooms, rakes and shovels. On one of our transits there was enough room between the tipper body and cab to hang shovels, rakes and brooms on a small bracket. The body also has a locker with doors each side running through the tipper body, enough room in there for saws, blowers and the rest of the kit. Easier than cutting a body down and less wasted space. Bob
  25. Never marry a spitter Arrived back here yesterday, busy little critters. Last batch.
