  1. If you really want a fair comparison of polluters check out the stats per capita, it paints a very different picture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions_per_capita Bob
  2. I like the way a figure of £10 an hour is plucked out of thin air, from where I am sat that just makes a lot more people unemployable. I can see employers dropping off staff or canning the ones they do have to balance the books. Its that or jack up prices which just triggers inflation . Dont the rich just get richer when the economy goes tits up ? all those repossessions, cheap factories, fluctuations in shares and the money markets......................Boom and bust Bob
  3. Its not really a worry though, if Mr Corbyn and his merry men really think robbing the rich and giving it to the poor is going to happen he is deluded. They will be gone as will any businesses that he attempts to hammer. Bob
  4. Always worth giving Nelson Green a call Dave, I would be very surprised if he cant help. Nelson M Green - The largest stockist of secondhand crawlers and spares in the UK Bob

I am all for a way round the system but towing that kind of weight behind a 3.5 ton truck with virtually no weight on the drive wheels is not going to be a bundle of laughs. Cant see hill starts in the wet or pulling onto a site being possible. Just thoughts. Bob

Have a quick squint at this thread Donk, an RB44 7.5 tonner has a train weight of 11 tons and would easily downplate to 3.5 tons. It would also tow a house. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/80192-rb44.html Bob

Thanks for the response , so if a 7.5 tonner had a fifth wheel coupling and a small trailer @4.5 ton gross the rest of the weight would need to be on the neck of the trailer over the fifth wheel. That may cause problems with axle weights on the towing vehicle, so 12 tons gross as a mini artic on a car licence is not really attainable Bob

I am equally confused , perhaps Richie ( Justme) could add some clarity. This subject is interesting but these weights/entitlements go against anything I know to be legal. Bob

I find rigid trucks painful to manoeuvre and no where near as useful as a tractor unit with a variety of trailers. Bob

  17. A friend wants to make his own cleft Chestnut post and rail fencing for his property (mug) . He is after 60ton and wants it in 2mtr and 3mtr lengths, his location is Frensham, Surrey . PM me if you have or know of any Thanks Bob
  18. Nice thought but there are not enough Mrs Spendthrifts to bolster this industry with these inflated wages We are after all only oiks working in the service sector and not barristers or doctors. Domestic tree work has to be affordable to the client and that is the bottom line, if it does not represent value for money Mrs Tenquotes Miggins will not have it done. If you want a comfy retirement look elsewhere and get involved with other things because not many can retire off the back of this game. Bob
  19. Pants:confused1: Joking aside paying a bit more does generally get you the better of what's available but that only works out if the contract prices can stand it. Bob
  20. Fixed that for you Bob
  21. Its "worth" 80% of the annual gross profit taken as an average over the last three years minus any liabilities, finding a buyer is another matter .The kit as a separate entity would need an independent valuation, probably best sold off privately. Bob
