  1. The truth of the matter is there are way to many kids entering into further education and spending many years achieving diplomas that don't result in gainful employment. This is a massive drain on resources and a total waste of a teenagers life. I would like to see an overhaul of the system and run it along the lines of the Germans, a child leaves school with its basic education, applies for a job within the industry of choice, if successful the said child finishes its education whilst working within the said industry. Also tied to a contract to stay for a agreed amount of time afterwards, child is educated and this is paid for by the employer. What we have in place here is an archaic system that has huge sums of money thrown at it with piss poor results. Bob
  2. Could you elaborate on that Mark? Cant for the life of me see how they are being stitched up. Bob
  3. Who makes up this shite? It should read take from the rich to give to the richer, nobody in this country is poor. The definition of poor :lacking sufficient money to live at a standard considered comfortable or normal in a society. Cant see this applying to many in this country, perhaps the meaning of poor should be changed to " wanting more than than prepared to work and pay for" Bob
  4. Thats the problem Richie, we are asking to leave and that will be on their terms. We have nothing to negotiate with , its going be their way or no way. What we should of had was a contract with a get out clauses long before we joined, its just another complete feckup at the tax payers expense. Bob
  5. I dont think it really matters Richie, we are in for a kicking and we will be dancing to their tune. We have nothing they want or need and most of the manufacturing done here that is reliant on the EU will be moving there. Bob
  6. A picture of JB going off to play with his nuts and chipper
  7. There`s a rough old field right behind it, I would have thought felling it would have been about half an hours work with a winch tractor Its in Normandy, Surrey Mr Borist, it may well be a council tree. A little gem I spotted on the A22 in Grinstead today Reduced to tears
  8. Anti terrorism in this country is dealt with by the ctc, a special unit that has little or nothing to do with street plod. To suggest chucking extra money at more street plod in the belief its going to make one iota of difference to the problems we face is ludicrous , ramp up the efforts of the ctc and arm a few more officers within city areas. Cant see what more can be done. Bob
  9. I beg to differ on this Wes, the yanks kicked off over there in 2001 and we joined in a few years later. Bin laden started to build the compound in Pakistan in 2003, completed in 2005. There is a pretty good chance the guy was never in Afghanistan all the time its was being bombed. Intelligence tracked down his location via one of his couriers and special forces done the rest. He was not flushed out, he was never there. Bob
  10. I dont think you can beat terrorism with an army , NI and Afghanistan are proof enough of that. Intellegence and a very small special forces team are all it took to put an end to Bin Laden, bombing the crap out of the place and years of military occupation failed miserably. Bob
  11. How about appointing a few more active mods and perhaps use the naughty step a bit more ? Bob
  12. Back on track The lads managed to get another kilometer of forest track done. Just the trackside left to refine, because the landowner likes to romp around on his tractor all the sides have to left mowable. Bob
  13. One of the best threads on here locked down http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/101095-making-news-today-219.html Why? Bob

  15. Thats still not bad for sitting in the van all day with your feet on the dash though eggs. Bob
  16. This It may change a bit now with the pound so low against the Euro, lots of migrant workers are leaving the UK for better pay in Germany. A shortage of labour here may see a small increase in pay. Bob
  17. In fairness to the yanks VI they have been on the the case for far longer than us in europe, half the cars made here could not be exported to the US because they failed to meet their strict emission standards . On another note they are reliant on energy for air con in just about every car, shop, office, factory or house in the south where they fry and heating for just about everything in the north where they freeze. There are no easy answers for the Americans and with the financial hole they are in I dont think they can finance a solution. The massive fines imposed on London for piss poor air quality by the EU are an example of an impossible situation. Just stop everyone using their cars is the answer, simple. Enforce that , best of luck. Bob
  18. If you really want a fair comparison of polluters check out the stats per capita, it paints a very different picture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions_per_capita Bob
  19. I like the way a figure of £10 an hour is plucked out of thin air, from where I am sat that just makes a lot more people unemployable. I can see employers dropping off staff or canning the ones they do have to balance the books. Its that or jack up prices which just triggers inflation . Dont the rich just get richer when the economy goes tits up ? all those repossessions, cheap factories, fluctuations in shares and the money markets......................Boom and bust Bob
  20. Its not really a worry though, if Mr Corbyn and his merry men really think robbing the rich and giving it to the poor is going to happen he is deluded. They will be gone as will any businesses that he attempts to hammer. Bob
  21. Always worth giving Nelson Green a call Dave, I would be very surprised if he cant help. Nelson M Green - The largest stockist of secondhand crawlers and spares in the UK Bob

I am all for a way round the system but towing that kind of weight behind a 3.5 ton truck with virtually no weight on the drive wheels is not going to be a bundle of laughs. Cant see hill starts in the wet or pulling onto a site being possible. Just thoughts. Bob
