  2. Someone needs to rattle @Justme `s cage, he would know the definitive answer. Bob
  3. I recently spent an afternoon with mine while pricing some clearance work and the poor sod must have taken fifty phone calls, his phone is non stop. All sorts of shit thrown at him from, calls for appointments, where is my quote, when can you start, blokes on the phone with queries, cancellations, others chomping at the bit to start early, TO`s ,bint in the office asking dopy questions and on... To think I used to do all that and work Bob
  4. Scott you need a shit filter, they are called managers. You really dont need to be taking on board all this crap and worrying yourself. Pass the stress on. Bob
  5. Cheap is fine but just sometimes quality matters. Belts as you know vary +/-3% on width, +/-3.5% on height, +/-3° on angle, a good bit on length and up to 10% in elasticity . Its really important to have matching belt sets on multigrove pulleys fitted to chippers and stump grinders , are you as a company prepared to select batches of belts in sets as OEM`s do to ensure they match and tension correctly ? Same with bearings, bearing shops are quite happy to supply ball races on size irrespective of whether the originals were a shallow or deep grove , you really do need to do some homework here if you want to supply and compete with the machine manufacturers . Bob
  6. About 6` so its about 12.1 ratio. Two average guys of 100kg can exert a 2400kg lift with it , thats well over double a three ton excavator can manage. If I build another it will be slightly longer. the lads do slip another pole over that one on occasions for a bit more grunt. Bob Edit; you can buy something similar but they are way too flimsy.
  7. This gadget we knocked up pops out any post, just a chain wrap around the post or if there is nothing left the concrete ball and push the lever down. Makes easy work of it. Bob
  8. I always though Mick was an ok sort of guy . Dragging politics into schools is nothing short of grooming, these half wit left/right center pricks need to be removed from schools. Bob
  9. e6Gz by and large I have kept out of this brexit debate but this is my take on it. A very smug conservative government that thought brexit could never happen offered the largely uninformed British people the referendum. The public were then bombed with all the negatives that the EU brings on top of many falsehoods a brexit would deliver. Negatives on immigration, the NHS contributions to the EU and many more were hyped which definitely influence a vote , now the truth and facts have emerged why should the people not have the final say ? Its a bit like being in a football stadium with 25,000 hooligans on your left wanting to smash fuck out of the town and kick the shit out of the other fans , on your right is one solicitor thats telling you its not a good idea. Which way do you run? Just sayin 60d
  10. I think it was an inch marples chisel ? Bob
  11. Its a shame its cancelled because its one of the bigger charity fund raisers. A lot of organising goes into this , folk training, money pledged and as big a ballache it is a lot of good does come of it. Bob
  12. Its too easy to press the like button and move on, perhaps without one there would be more interaction. Bob
  13. I wont be falling off Stubby, I have the new saddle developed by @Mark Bolam cycles in Kent.
  14. I have been in training for the Velo south Stubby, stock up with burgers for when I swing by Bob
  15. As above check the fluid if its the torque converter drive model with a borg warner box, its basically half of an auto box. If it is there is also a filter in the shuttle box sump which may be clogged. The trouble with clogged is its likely to be from plate material, the good news is they share plates etc with other BW units like the one fitted in an old V12 jag and are really simple to rebuild. Its less than an hours work once its on the bench. Bob
  16. e6Gz that is the worst chat up line I have ever heard , may work on grinder b0d
  17. Swmbo fecked off to a horse show so I have been god all weekend . Will be back to disciple status by the end of play today Bob
  18. They all work but you need to be very gentle with them or you will eat up way too much chain , the Aldi chain grinder is no better or worse than the oregon one. With a little patience and practice on a load of old fecked chains you will soon get the hang of it, Brilliant tool if you have a pile of chains the same pitch to sharpen, not so good if you only have a few different ones because of setup. Cant beat the little 12v hand held for taking on site, the stones last for ages if you dont lean on them. Important to use the whole length of the stone and not trough them.
  19. You really cant go wrong having a set of these about https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-HOLLOW-PUNCH-SET-TOOL-FOR-LEATHER-PAPER-PLASTIC-WOOD-BELT-HOLE-PUNCH-/181137490582 And for the correct gasket material this outfit are best , for the few quid it costs its worth having a few sheets of various gasket paper. https://www.ramgaskets.com/gasket-materials/ Bob
  20. Ground conditions ? look before you leap, you really do need to know whether you will be using a post knocker, auger or explosives. Bob
  21. You could change the pump you have for a twin, one large section for the winch and a smaller piggy backed for the mewp. Just thoughts. Bob
  22. It would seem that the truck is pumping way to much fluid John. The mewp will have a manufacturers recommended flow rate and pressure, I would check this against the tag on your PTO pump. If the pump is run off the transfer box run it in a different gear on the gearbox, if its a gearbox driven pump you are stuffed and will have to find another pump. Bob
  23. Managed to get a bit more done, body back on , electrics connected, doors back on and gapped. Just need to pull the stickers off and get a fresh coat of paint on it. All the lights were a bit shot so bought new, £120 for every light unit on there including new headlights
