  1. Its a shame its cancelled because its one of the bigger charity fund raisers. A lot of organising goes into this , folk training, money pledged and as big a ballache it is a lot of good does come of it. Bob
  2. See Bob
  3. Its too easy to press the like button and move on, perhaps without one there would be more interaction. Bob
  4. I wont be falling off Stubby, I have the new saddle developed by @Mark Bolam cycles in Kent.
  5. I have been in training for the Velo south Stubby, stock up with burgers for when I swing by Bob
  6. As above check the fluid if its the torque converter drive model with a borg warner box, its basically half of an auto box. If it is there is also a filter in the shuttle box sump which may be clogged. The trouble with clogged is its likely to be from plate material, the good news is they share plates etc with other BW units like the one fitted in an old V12 jag and are really simple to rebuild. Its less than an hours work once its on the bench. Bob
  7. e6Gz that is the worst chat up line I have ever heard , may work on grinder b0d
  8. Swmbo fecked off to a horse show so I have been god all weekend . Will be back to disciple status by the end of play today Bob
  9. They all work but you need to be very gentle with them or you will eat up way too much chain , the Aldi chain grinder is no better or worse than the oregon one. With a little patience and practice on a load of old fecked chains you will soon get the hang of it, Brilliant tool if you have a pile of chains the same pitch to sharpen, not so good if you only have a few different ones because of setup. Cant beat the little 12v hand held for taking on site, the stones last for ages if you dont lean on them. Important to use the whole length of the stone and not trough them.
  10. You really cant go wrong having a set of these about https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-HOLLOW-PUNCH-SET-TOOL-FOR-LEATHER-PAPER-PLASTIC-WOOD-BELT-HOLE-PUNCH-/181137490582 And for the correct gasket material this outfit are best , for the few quid it costs its worth having a few sheets of various gasket paper. https://www.ramgaskets.com/gasket-materials/ Bob
  11. Ground conditions ? look before you leap, you really do need to know whether you will be using a post knocker, auger or explosives. Bob
  12. You could change the pump you have for a twin, one large section for the winch and a smaller piggy backed for the mewp. Just thoughts. Bob
  13. It would seem that the truck is pumping way to much fluid John. The mewp will have a manufacturers recommended flow rate and pressure, I would check this against the tag on your PTO pump. If the pump is run off the transfer box run it in a different gear on the gearbox, if its a gearbox driven pump you are stuffed and will have to find another pump. Bob
  14. Managed to get a bit more done, body back on , electrics connected, doors back on and gapped. Just need to pull the stickers off and get a fresh coat of paint on it. All the lights were a bit shot so bought new, £120 for every light unit on there including new headlights
  15. eG6z, Al always stutters after his sunday snort . b0D
  16. We have both and on that distance I would go for the wheeled dumper. They are a lot faster and will manage ok on the sticky stuff. If its a quagmire the slower tracked dumper wins, they both have their place . High tip is useful. Bob
  17. None other than Eg6z Designed and developed over many years by the technical team at Aspenarbs sandbag filling department. Patents pending. Bob Will be taking orders shortly
  18. Kinnel its not a council job Eg6s its forestry . Sandbags filled with concrete , raked back and pinned. Sump on each end of the pipe and a steel grate on the inlet of the pipe to keep crap out , all the water is running over sandstone so pretty solid base to the ditches. . Sandbags wont be doing anything by the time the ground behind them consolidates . Bob
  19. The lads renewed app 160 mts of these gurt 1mtr dia land drainage pipes under some roads and across a field. 6mts deep at the end so sandbagged/pinned up to about 3mts and raked the ground back on top. Also doing a bout a 100mts of bank reinstatement/retention around a lake with gabions And a 13mtrx10mtr factory extension base + sewage treatment plant. Having a bit of a run on these @eggsarascal this is the fifth one this year.
  20. So this shim has tits, a chopper and does goblin Bob
  21. Just needs one with a box of swanvesta`s Mick Whats left of todays pile after less than an hour.
  22. Its really not a problem, you can register any plant and machinery to go on the road. I have seen registered road rollers, tracked excavators , tracked dumpers, wheeled dumpers, cranes and the list just goes on. The most important thing is safety, it really does need to steer and stop. Lights etc are not that important and for daytime use not obligatory but if you fit them they must work https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/daytime-running-lights/daytime-running-lights Bob
  23. There is nothing to stop you registering one as an "ag machine" and trundling down the road with it. As with anything ag there are restrictions like no motorways, 360 flashing lights on dual carriageways and max speeds . I move one for a guy on occasion and they are a ballache on the low loader because of the height ( 16` all up on my setup) , journey needs planning a bit around bridges etc but thats nothing to the tree damage caused once you start beating your way down overgrown country lanes to a site . Bob
  24. Unless Mrs Goblin is ordering you about .Poor old sod was really struggling with this, I did stop and ask him if he needed a hand and she replied " he can manage" poor chap was not even allowed to talk Bastards are getting fussy as well
